DPR vs Argas

I was curious.. is agi Argas really worth using over the DPR stam/crit/haste? The reason I ask this is because while farming for the Vision belt on my MW, a Shadowfang happened to drop and I luckily happened to win it on a need roll since a few other group members needed as well (few warriors without BoA and a 21 Monk tank.) I'd like to make a Brewmaster, and was thinking about just making a set for it on my MW since she already has a neat little mog, August tabard, and obviously a BiS mog sword.. so could I get away with using DPR/Ello's or do I REALLY need the agi Argas?

But the Monk I currently have has Int Argas, my question is could I get away with DPR/Ello's or do I need to make another monk for BM since I completed the Argas quest already.

Of course you can use it with ello's but it's close from optimal on a BM. I'd maybe FC for another argas? There aren't many other alternatives apart from the pvp ring which is 4agi and 2 stam.

True. The ONLY thing that makes me want to get a BM set on this toon is for Fang mog honestly, I'd just make another if I didn't have it.

Youredead uses DPR/Argas and he's one of, if not the, best lock in the bracket.. so i'd say it's BiS.

by that logic guardian druid is still better than resto for fcing because hunnybuns and darkchewie played it until 6.1 even through the 25% increased dmg on tank specs

Well, DPR's stats effect EF, while Argas doesn't effect EF.. so it also makes sense that it's a better ring for the build he's running. It's not solely based on the fact that he's a great lock, it's just a better option than Argas. I should've stated that in my post as well.

just cause it affects ef doesnt mean it is better. what actually matters is by how much it affects it compared to the dmg increase from int.

Personally, the int you gain while losing the stat you're stacking, some stam, AND some crit isn't worth 30$

Was thinking of the agi Argas, my bad. Forgot int gives the same amount of stam as DPR.

If it saves you 30 irl dollars or 2 months of game time financially, you bet DPR is bis and I do still find sets where I do actually use it. The crit, stam, haste is quite nice for some builds. Although, with my healers I like to have the int of argas + something else. DPR is a great ring for builds reliant on haste which is why you see YD with it and it is not a bad ring for FCs who don't have SoS depending on class.


It's absolutely far from useless and has og status because it's from a real pirate and pirates are never wrong.
