EU+US Does the proc from Darkwater Talwar increase the chances for Crusader procs?

I'm confused about how older enchants like Crusader work. Does having more events occurring raise its proc chance? I'm currently weapon-swapping to fish for more.

This is for a level 20 PvE dungeon-carrying Twink btw.

This is a pretty good question, but I would still like to believe getting your hands on an epic 1h would be better because Crusader already has an insane proc rate. Very curious to see what others think

the proc from strike of the hydra would proc crusader in legion, idk if thats been changed but I haven't heard anything saying that it has

so unless things have been changed from legion I think talwar would proc sader too

the proc itself is still why pve tanks use it tho, not many pieces are rly better

I'm 80% certain that talwar procs can proc crusader.

Crusader has a set proc % calculated from your weapon attack speed - and since all 1hers other than daggers have the same weapon speed (at least, for level 20s), that % is always going to be the same. That % is for any proccable event, which I think does include the talwar proc. So yes, more events means more procs.

I don't know the damage loss between talwar and something like the epic petrified shinbone. The epic at ilvl 32 is going to have higher dps which means your abilities scales better. Talwar has the proc, and the slightly increased crusader rate that comes from it. I would guess the slightly increased crusader proc rate isn't a huge difference in that comparison, but you'd need to do some testing. If you're trying to swap between several weapons to stack multiple crusaders, then it might be worth it.

Supposedly, crusader can proc off any damage event, so procs from talwar theoretically could proc crusader as well.

That said, it’s also important to note that Talwar’s proc has a relatively low proc rate. Last I checked on a dummy (several months ago), 1 talwar procced at a rate of around 3 (or 3.0-3.5) ppm or less. So while Talwar can increase the prof rate of crusader (assuming above is true), it’ll be a -very- small increase in proc chance.

Oh wow, so according to this Crusader being on a regular PPM makes it more suitable for DoTs and ticks and stuff like that rather than Elemental Force, because Elemental Force is on a RPPM, right?

Depends on what you mean - crusader has no cooldown and can proc often if it you're lucky or have lots of events. It simply refreshes the buff unless its a different weapon with crusader. Ele force is RPPM, but at 10RPPM (*haste) - youre looking at a proc every 6 seconds no matter what, so its a hard enchant to beat.

Yes crusader would benefit more from dots and ticks because it’s PPM.
