Differences in character quality between AP Alliance and Horde

Alliance became really boring after the first few months. The only reason I kept playing was because we were being promised WGs and arenas but eventually they stopped, people quit and I started rolling Horde although we lost most games. But, that was fine to me because winning a game at that time made you feel accomplished unlike facerolling 9/10 alliance BGs.

I do agree with what was said above however. Gearing Horde toons is much harder and more time-consuming than alliance and that tends to keep people playing Horde.

AP Alliance lost it's true sense of community when I re-rerolled horde. The main people in the social/premading circle either quit or came with me at that point. It never recovered, but it's still got a veteran or two around. I wouldn't mind playing AP A, if the people there weren't generally scrubs or imbeciles.
AP History Lesson, Yo or How Earlwing Destroyed F2P

;D

No, I don't think it was you. Kincaide was already pretty much done.

I think this is more of an F2P issue then a faction issue really.

Most people play til they get bis, once the grind is over, there's nothing. Once you're bis, it's time to start enjoying those BGs, right? Eh, maybe not so much.

The samething that makes F2P nice is what makes it old really fast. People talk about the 'endless' grind of wow endgame but F2P doesn't have that. So, either they reroll all other classes or just move on. Just like anything else, it's cute, for a little while but it gets old. Either you stay cause you enjoy the people or you move on, cause you're bored. I have seen it many times "I've done everything I wanted to do" "there's nothing in F2P left to do" etc. Usually this kind of talk starts after said person gets an elusive item like Sea Turtle or Lucky Fishing Hat, stuff like that. It completes an objective they've had for so long and then there's nothingness.

Both sides of AP have lost a lot of nice players, it's how it works, F2P has a high turnover rate, but I think we had a little bit more to lose to begin with.
