Define Crutch???

I think I would define a crutch as anything that you can't use in an Arena setting. So basically if you use it in a duel or in a 1v1 situation it could be viewed as a crutch.

Examples of this would be Lay on Hands, Speed pots, Army of the dead (not in this bracket of course). However if someone used a bomb in a duel I would not consider that a crutch.

In this sense blizzard has basically defined what a crutch is.

Something that you use that you know damn well the other person does not. AGM, Lifeblood, Speed potions, health potions, mana potions, well fed. It's also something that the other person CAN have. Spells are class-specific so saying an ability is a crutch is stupid.

I'd call it bad twinking on the dudes side, the one that doesn't have AGM, LB and so forth. It's available to him as to anyone. Get working on it kiddo. Why should others hold back on their perfection due to slackers? No.

I never said they should. When you have a new twink that doesn't have all that crap, how is he supposed to know how good he is if the opponent keeps using said crap? It's annoying and doesn't make good dueling.

so the game can be more fun and to not be cunts

Imo there is no "crutch" for a twink.

We get the BiS Gear/Enchantments for our Class/Spec. In an analogy, it means we have a big penis. When someone says "Your a baddie because you have (this and that) as a crutch". Basically they are saying, (analogy from their point of view) they rather you have a small penis because it requires "more skill" to use. And I thank the person who started this analogy:)

Now I've been trolled and flamed by other twinks, specifically lvl 10 twinks who turn their XP off and play in BGs, they believe that because I use/play with "BiS buffs" that I need to "crutch" just to play good and that I should play without them(the BiS Buffs). Heres an analogy for this situation, I already have a big penis, but I can have a bigger penis if I take some enhancement pills to make sex(bgs) so much better:)

There are no crutches, there are just butthurt scrubs who need to qq less.

That being said I respect people that dont use lifeblood, AGM, engy, etc. In a duel against someone who they know doesnt have it because they are conciosly making the fight more even. Another good example would be a shaman who pops AGM not purging it off of someone else in a duel. I dont complain about people who do things like that, but I do think less of them.

Man I’m finna throw down… Inc wall of text…

This is 100% how I would define it. If you stop using skill because you can rely on gear no one else has

This; I think if you’re succeeding only because of some insanely unfair advantage you have rather than using skill, you are crutching on it.

The 19 bracket is going to pretty much be the only place where people say that terrain exploits are not a crutch.

This; Because we have made it acceptable just like a bunch of other stuff (AGM, LB, Heavy Runecloth bandages, etc).

Wait are you saying that in any situation, crutching will be called if you use something that you can’t use in an arena, say WSG? Or just a 1v1 situation duel?

He'll find out how good he is when he gets those items himself and duels.

Yes and if they do said things, would you consider it a crutch?

In a duel, yes, in WSG and arena there are outside factors in play and a reasonable expectation that people come prepared so I can't blame anyone for popping LB, AGM, etc.

Good point, I agree with you on the WSG part. But what if you are about to lose a 1v1 and pop lifeblood/AGM and end up winning? Still crutching? Or is it the other guy's fault for being lazy and not having it?

Not a crutch, but if its a test of skill and you cannot win without them, or when your opponent has them as well, then that is what counts.

Its sole purpose is to show when people lack skill and "crutch" on something outside of normal gameplay. AGM is fine lifeblood is fine, it is more a question of game skill. The reason for not using them if someone else doesn't have it, is to figure out who has the better skill. If beating people is all that matters then roll a hunter. Dont tell other people discussing whether or not peoples skill is based off of fringe abilities most people don't use that they cant anymore.

Telling people to quit bitching is as bad as bitching in the first place, if someone has a problem with something, most often there are other people who are going to be thinking the same way. I dont tell you to "quit sucking" or "use skill dont crutch". Telling people not to argue a point is not a valid argument. Dont ask for a discussion, then tell people who do so to "stop Bitching".

Think about it.

And to the other guy, I dont know about anyone else, buts thats about as much use of Big and Small penis's as I need to read today, thanks friend. *Cough*.

Could you beat him on equal terms? If not then you crutch.

A lot of people think overuse of a specific ability that is more powerful than others is crutching. Like spamming moonfire, or constantly turtling with your speed buff abilities. I think it just represents missuse of an advanvantage, and is not exactly the smart thing to do. I have met a few people that would concider grandfathered items a crutch. If WoW had a Handicap mode, that would be a crutch.

Excellent points, I totally see where you're coming from. And I definitely agree with you on the 1v1 situation. And now I see what Grabco was saying about using abilities in a 1v1 that cannot be used in arenas. But, to me, I almost tend to incorporate having AGM and LB into a twink's skill. Feel me? Also now that I think about it, using something that about 75-80% of experienced twinks have is not considered a crutch. I.E. I don't even have AGM on my guy, and there are times when I'm really close to winning a duel with a bomb/wrath/moonfire episode and they just AGM and kill me. Yeah, I might get pissed and rage for a bit, but I definitely do not consider it a crutch. If I had it, I could've won.

And yes, I am fully aware of what I said was very uncalled for and I instantly regretted it when I posted it. It just seems that "crutching" has come up a lot lately, I've seen it mentioned three times in the last few days and I have also recently seen lots of scrubs in-game QQ about me crutching on LB or travel form. Apologies all.

Haha, more penis analogies please!

I kind of think it's his fault for it not being equal. If he was a proper twink he would have LB.

I agree with everything besides that jumps are a crutch. I think that jumps are more of a skill than a crutch.
