Corruption under 120? Pic included

It's a level 117 gnome with a corrupted aspirant's ring (ilevel 259), with the +6% mastery corruption effect.

When corruption effects were added, i ran my 110 twink through many dungeons but came to realise that none of the items were corrupting, they were warforging/titanforging.

I read that the world pvp chests also followed the same pattern, so i didn't bother testing it.

However this 117 character shows that it is possible to obtain corrupted items under 120. That means more options for getting extra leech and other fun effects.

Can anybody confirm if they have obtained corrupted items from the world pvp chests? What other source of pvp gear could possibly corrupt?

That’s probably the only source, unless drops from pvp bg/arena can corrupt too

Wonder if the item would be usable on a 110 on a non bfa account if you transferred. mastery corruption on 110 dh, or twilight devastation would be insane
Or any % stat increase corruption for speed warrior/pally

Looks like warmode is enabled, and the guy is 117 in nazmir as gnome. My guess is he would be there for faction incursion

I've looted many pvp chests since the patch (as in, at least 30) - both secret supply and war supply ones. Not seen a single corrupted item. EDIT: On a 111, so it's possible it happens at higher levels.

Looking at his gear, it seems like he has been farming supply chests. However I find odd how he has several "corrupted" pieces, yet only the ring is actually working. Looks to me like a bug, with the other pieces's corruption not working as intended and the ring being the exception.

Prior to 8.3 the chests dropped items off the set "Dread Aspirant”. Now they drop items of the “Corrupted Aspirant” set. So the name of his gear is fine, there’s nothing “not working”. He just somehow got lucky enough to get one to proc with the corruption stat - which has no connection with the name of the set items (they will all begin with the words Corrupted Aspirant’s )

Looting them daily on 5 alts, four of which 111 and one 110.

No corruption procs yet. They might'v fixed it in a first few days of the patch.

I doubt it, because this guy was level 117 just one day ago, when he posted it on reddit. The scaled item level of the ring (259) matches that of a level 117 character, so it must have been recent. He is now 119, and looking at his looms, this looks like something the guy decided to show on reddit just after getting it.

is there a schedule i can follow to farm the drops in each zone? i keep reading they run every 20 minutes but i think thats through the 3 different zones. im pretty much just farming the stormsong valley drop since its always around brennadam. getting pretty sweet tmog but no corruption so far.

yes wowhead has a map for each zone and where the drop points are.

i almost transfered my next project after she got her psalter last week but if there’s a chance to get eyeballs or a monster to chase me in a bg im farming these every chance i get.

i did just loot a corrupted item at 120 from supply drop in zuldazar, and it was the ring, same one he has just a different corruption. ive looted around 7ish this was the first to proc for me

have you guys trying under 120 looted the ring a few times yet?
