Can an F2P character be summoned by a high-level warlock? That would be one way to get to the island. As far as I know, the only way to get to it for the first time is to use a portal in Shattrath, and I heard about it being level locked for F2P characters. After you are on the island, you can get a flightpoint, which you could then use, but getting there the first time is the culprit. There are also teleport scrolls, but they are away from the island, not to it. :-/
There might be a workaround - if you get a quest for Quel'delar (Northrend, have to loot a rare item from mobs - mostly in instances, but recently it was dropping from zone mobs as well), you go to Isle of Quel'danas as part of the subsequent quest chain. Maybe - maybe, I am not certain - you can get the flightpoint while being put into the island that way. But it's a really tall call.
