It is all made up to line the pockets of companies. And it works. People believe it. The uninformed masses have been believing it.
Did you know that China just admitted they lied about their coal burning output. That lie amounts to 70% of the US coal out. Just that lie...think what their entire country is producing.

Now, 2% of the entire worlds CO2 emissions every year is caused just by volcano emissions. Just think if one was to erupt. When Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 it cooled the atmosphere by 1.3 degrees.
My point is, we are insignificant when it comes to Mother Nature. The Earth has had periods of cooling and warming before. Some people are just taking advantage of other people's naivety.
I am not saying that it is bad to recycle and respect Mother Earth. But you have to take what a lot of these reports say with a grain a salt.

For instance, the "97% of scientists agree that climate change is happening" statement. That can be easily skewed. All you have to do is get 100 people ask them y/n do you think climate change is happening? Those that say no ask them to leave and bring in more. Ask the question again. Those that say no, ask them to leave. Keep going until you get your desired percentage. That is how polls work. They can be manipulated very very easily. You could go into an elementary school and ask the children there if a 55 year old person was "old" they may say yes. But you could go into an assisted living home and ask the same question and get a "no". Easily manipulated.

This is a logical fallacy, your suggesting that because a statistic can be skewed, particularly under tiny sample conditions, that the 97% static is skewed. That's cute, but doesn't actually prove anything.

Here's a (footnoted, cross-referenced) list of consensus.no manipulative, fly-by-night "polls", just a massive consensus by pretty much every scientific organization of significance. Five years ago there was more debate on the subject but the evidence has become so overwhelming that nobody of consequence bothers anymore.

Show me the active, respected scientist saying "I must see things to believe it!" A massive portion of what science studies can't be seen with the human eye or with an electron microscope for that matter. Even the "creationists" gave up and tried to rebrand as "intelligent design" because they were butt-hurt at being laughed at. Now it's basically, yah, sure darwin bla bla bla, but god started it all.

don't you know, the scientists of the world are colluding to lie to you about the nature of everything, allowing them to fulfill their evil science plan (consisting primarily of taking your guns and performing abortions).
 
I would be really interested to see any reasoning behind the though of "it's just a giant hoax, so that the elite could get more money from taxpayers". So far, I've seen numerous people on the internet claim that climate change is bullshit, but nothing to back up their claims except some sketchy youtube videos. On the other hand, I've read dozens of articles about the subject on different respected and trustworthy science magazines and websites.

Sure, it could just be that the "elite" is paying for ALL the media to stuff climate change down our throat, but is that really likely? Why would I believe random people on the internet, or youtube videos over scientists and science magazines etc?

It feels like people who say climate change is a hoax, just say it because it's the easy way around it. Why put any effort on studying the subject or using resources to slow global warming, when you can just say "the goverment did it", and go on with your life?

The companies are on the hoax side cause then they can say fuck it and keep polluting.
