Classic Plus

No I meant copy. There's a subreddit already explaining this. The concept is Blizz recreates all 3 as unique Games. You could keep your 60's on the Classic ONLY Server, copy those toons to the newly opened TBC Server and continue up to 70. Once a WotLK Server opened, you could copy either your 60's from the Classic Server or your 70's from the TBC Server and continue up to 80. 3 separate Games (plus Retail).

=> u got 3 chars with one process of making 1...

It can be, but I doubt it will be the major part. Why do you cling to your own small point so much instead of adressing the issue?

It's not about me. It's about what defines a game and what those game designers think people want and what "fun" is. It drives future design considerations. If they think people want content only, they will create new dungeons only and bump up the gear available so that players are always thinking that they are obtaining something new.

I doubt they will pursue an alternate timeline of development. Instead I wish they would focus their resources on an MMORPG set in the Starcraft universe, something fresh (how many MMORPG are in a space setting vs. some medieval Dungeons & Dragons theme with rogues, warriors, and wizards)

I don't think you're going to see blizzard maintain development of two different versions of the same game.

Classic is essentially free for them. No need to create new content, new art, new mechanics. Just repush old stuff and make sure it runs on modern servers.

When the content is all pushed, just maintain the servers, combine them as populations fall and then keep a few alive as living museums that people can fondly revisit for years. No need for a classic+, no need for a full team of developers.

After all TBC is classic+. What do you want to add to classic? Arenas? Harder dungeons? More challenging raids? Better art? Flying mounts? Satisfying story? It's all there.

People believe Classic'll die today or tomorrow. I always say Classic'll get a small percent of stable players. Tourists will come and leave. This is true but the question is how long will they keep Retail WoW alive?

-Pandaria (Let's kill a horde leader)
-Warlords of Draenor (back to the past, Let's kill all badazz orcs)
-Legion (Illidian was not a bad guy, he's here again, love him)
-BFA (We've nothing left. Let's make another horde leader enemy)
so what's next?
-Arthas and Jaina's secret son?
-Let's kill a horde leader again?
-Bring back Deathwing...

Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne was the end of story. We've played it in Wotlk. I think this is time for WoW 2.0. or a MMORPG game in a completely different World with modern graphics engines. As an example, World of Starcraft...They've shit tons lore there. I'm talking about ideal but they're a company. The reality is their goal. Kids are not sitting in front of PC's anymore. Diablo Immortal is the game which shows us their vision. We think we do but we don't...Classic+ is just a dream for now.

Sure but the future of retail/blizzard isn't the discussion here. Classic/classic plus is the discussion.

I get that they're likely tied together to an extent, but let's not get distracted complaining about retail.

I told my ideas about Classic's future at page 1. I wanted to show company's position in this situation. They'll decide things.

Seeing how successful it is in almost 2 months. It's been 3 weeks.... why are we worried about phase 7 already?

Well, I found the subreddit while waiting in queues, so it was partly out of boredom. But also, if Blizz were to decide to create any new content, they probably would like to start soon, like in the next 6 months. I'm sure they'll wait a little while just to confirm that not too many people quit in the first phase, but these projects take time, so it's good to try to get their attention before they've made decisions, not after it's too late.

Why can't twinking be part of Classic's success?

I actually think the phenomena of twinking can teach a lot about how WoW can and does work. It's an unintended way of playing the game. It's also a case of people preferring a part of the game's content that isn't max level. Personally, I think a better version of Vanilla would be one that is more sustainable, where people are more interested in alts, accomplishing unusual feats, just doing stuff in the world, rather than only consuming the latest bleeding edge content.

This exactly. One way to do that, without changing the Level Cap, is to introduce World type Events and Dynamic Content, all keeping with Vanilla WoW's flavor. For example, having the Game spawn NPC's of a type within that particular Zone at random intervals, but in greater number and difficulty, to go 'invade' the local Town/Quest Hub and wreck it unless Players band together to fight back. This could work similarly to Rift (minus the Rift's that spawned them).

What if the Farmers near Tarren Mill got sick of the Horde always attacking them so they ask the Alliance (NPC's) for help dealing with them. In turn the Game spawns a Battalion of Alliance Militia and along with some of the Farmers, pitchforks in tow, storm Tarren Mill to seek revenge.

Take that concept and add something to each and every Zone. Maybe in Eastern Plaguelands it's just the native Beasts have gone mad and all start converging on the Argent Dawn in waves similar to the Hyjal Raid. You could go on and on with the idea. This would give Classic a more lived in feeling and reason for Players to visit different Zones on a regular basis.

In the future, Blizzard should treat the classic wow as Marvel "what if" comics. I want to see the emerald dream as they thought it might exist as extra content in vanilla/bc.

What if a third faction formed from Illidan ruling the outland (Belf, draenei, naga) that we get to play as.

What if we actually got to see Medivh's son (lol).

What was the being that the timbermaw failed to hold back?

Class specializations like druid of the claw, talon, serpent.

And more what if scenarios that people better in wow lore could come up with.

A couple things that have been popular in the subreddit:
  • No flying mounts
  • New continents are cool, but draw most players away from the main world, making it feel empty.
  • Class (spec) balance is pretty bad in Vanilla.
  • WotLK had a few nice things, but was the beginning of the end
  • Hero classes that are only unlockable by finishing certain end-game content, but start at level 1.
Unfortunately, there's a LOT of disagreement. Some people want to focus only on new content for leveling, some only want new 40-man raid content. Very few people want TBC as-is, thought they acknowledge that it improved a lot of things. I see a lot of disagreement here too, so I think it's consistent.

I don't agree with them. It's not that bad. Elitist guilds/players cause so much trouble. Yes, hybrid classes have mana problems, do less dps etc but you can do the content anyway. They even want 3 mages for clearing lvling dungeons like RFC, ZF... I want to say them .uck off and play your Myhtic+

I've watched a stream a couple of days ago. They were creating group for raid with an elitist fashion. No room for hybrids of course. They're so pro and they want max. dps set up. Raid started and they wiped at first try. They don't know a shit about game mechanics but they're pro...

And fancy mana addict elves!

I think that's what they're referring to. Balance between specs is fine, except in raids all the drops are for only one spec per class, unlike how it is in TBC.

I would love to play a "Classic 2" patch that keeps mechanics how we know and like them in vanilla, keeps the level cap at 60, but expands options for itemization and sidegrades at endgame, maybe adding some more raids.

I actually like the crapshoot that is prefab itemization on raid gear, but a bigger variety of sets with different focuses would let people experiment with all kinds of different builds and get railroaded into one single viable build a lot less.
