Knew this was coming. As an og f2p l, and old world twinker I cannot wait for cataclysm. It opened the door to many more dps specs being viable at low levels
As much as I’d love to relive the f2p experience however, I don’t think that will be the case. Given the fact that battleground queues on classic are currently merged, expect that most people will remain playing 19, 29, 39 just like now
I’m sure some folks will want to try and recreate the self imposed restrictions of f2p but I expect that any traction they gain will be swiftly met by influx of 24s, which would hurt 19 and 29 populations and would probably hurt BG activity across all brackets
All in all. I prepared my 19 and 39 druids just for this case. I can’t wait to starsurge you all in cata.

Agreed. I dabbled a bit into F2P during this era, but the meta was hunter and f2ps didn't have it too good back then

I really doubt there will be 2 x f2p systems. They already have one for retail, seems extremely unlikely they'd make a second one for cata classic. The 'Recruit a friend' system was in original TBC but was absent from TBC classic. It won't be a hard copy. It's cata with changes.
Also I'm not convinced any bracket will be healthy besides 80-84. Currently in era BG's only realistically pop at max level and wrath is almost exclusively 70-79 + 80. Other bracket either don't exist or have a very small window of activity each day or on BG weekends.
The 10-19 BG bracket for season of discovery will probably be popping for a few months tho. This includes a bunch of retail abilities discovered through runes, maybe fun idk.

all the other classic versions require a sub, i doubt blizz is going to have F2P within a classic version because it was in OG cata. blizz did not even do free 10 day / level 20 limit trial system in previous WOW versions in the other classic WOWs. if....they did, remember blizz releases classic versions at last patch near next expac prepatch. so 24s will be a thing due to bracket split with or without F2P. in OG Cata 19s were on a severe decline, when the brackets were split and since it was a fair gear restart alot rolled 24s.
in 19.s and 24s, boomkins became the meta, arcane mage and SP came into serious power in cata. disco and HPs were also really good which continued thru MOP. the rerolls were massive, hunters became actually rare in BGs, rogues were a non issue. ferals were the new rogue
twinking imo will further decline with so many separate versions of WOW rolling
