can 20's match 10's in PVE damage?

I play 10's but am really interested in making some 20's but was wondering which class/spec would be closest to the damage I am used to with my 10's...I am guessing survival hunter or spriest but I know most of the stuff I read about on this site is for pvp. Every time I run dungeons with a 20 twink, they are blown away by the damage my 10's are doing, so it just made me wonder what 20 twink would be best to play. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've never been in a group with a lvl 10 twink, but I know that my 20 hunter is, 95% of the time, far ahead on the damage trackers. I think a level 10 mage, with lots of mob pulls, can get some decent AOE damage and overtake me sometimes.

A 10 hunter would outperform you.

I can't imagine you'd outperform a monk either.

I’ve run a lot of dungeons and islands in my day, at both level 10 and 20.

the only way a 20 would outperform a 10 is if said 10 lacked core AOE abilities to clear packs

Oh of course! I'd love to see a fully geared 10 because I feel like even a 10 with just heirlooms does better than pretty much any leveler. And a 10 with full AOE mindset I'm sure will make dungeons a breeze

Personally, I was in Atal'dazar with a level 10 Mage who blasted everything in 0 seconds...
One of the fastest cleared dungeons I've witnessed!

assuming you can clear the dungeon before being vote kicked by retarded levelers who no longer feel special

I was able to get close as fury warrior but that was before crusader str nerf so now it would be maybe posibble with BiS gear including destiny etc. But only on bosses, adds die too quickly.

always figured a 20 hunter would be the closest to matching the damage of a 10, but that would be impressive to see a warrior pulling that off ... and you're right, a boss fight would be the only way to compare

On a Boss fight 10 Twinks (even without full Gems like Trinks/Rings/etc) would almost always win, even against BiS 20 Vets. Trash dies so fast that it's a moot question. That said, there will always be that 0.01% 20's that are WTFPWNBBQOMGWHATJUSTHAPPENED and plenty of 10's that have no idea how to gear or play their Class.

Not a lot of AoE abilities available at 10, if memory serves... kind of slows down the process. From my experience, anyway.
