Bracket Managers Explained More Clearly

bracket managers used to represent the bracket i guess shit's changed

"Shit's changed", the bracket managers have been around for what, a few months?

Honestly - anything anyone does here on the administrating department has nothing to do with the game itself. Hate it or love it, but the forum staff don't need to know anything about world of warcraft, to distinguish the difference between a valid thread - and things that should not be going on.

I'm quite happy I'm not moderating here anymore, I'd be throwing bans left and right because it's just inexcusable how much hate and trash, people volunteering their spare time, get, for cleaning up your trash.

In the famous words of Drayner;
This isn't a democracy.

It's quite interesting how these subjects keep popping up once in a while. Like people never learn.

The bracket managers are more like bracket garbage men, cleaning up our shit and not being thanked for it. As long as they do it in a relatively unbiased manner, why should you care who does it?

I can easily be one of the more offensive/trollish posters in this forum, and have no complaints to speak of regarding the bracket manager in question. It's about time that you overly-sensitive EUers take responsibility for your own actions and mind your business.

Couldn't agree more. And Jesus people...can you not go ONE FREAKING DAY without whining like toddlers (though most of the twinkers are kids...) about something that isn't even an issue?

What you're describing would be much more fitting for a moderator, if you ask me.

A BM would rather be someone that brings initiatives to the bracket, organizes events, welcoming new players by explaing the current status of the community, etc. etc. (Not saying the current BMs aren't doing this fyi)

And yes, I am much aware of the definition that Yde explained, but this is just own observations and thoughts!

I see where you're getting at - what it is you'd want to achieve with it. But as it is, bracket managers aren't the 'role model' of the bracket. They're simply players that read the specific section because they play the bracket - and are decent and respectable people that can therefore be trusted with cleaning up in threads that have no place there.

But I'm with you to the point that having people like Sneaky (R.I.P. friend) is good for twinking in general. But then we're discussing another subject; we're discussing what Bracket Managers should be - not what they are.

The thread should've been completely different then; It shouldn't have been "let us pick Bracket Managers QQ" it should've been something along the lines of "Change the requirement for Bracket Managers" or "Change Bracket Managers role" or similar.

Bracket Managers are what it says. People that Manage a Bracket. :)

i wonder if this will end up like aj and starcookie resigning as mod because everyone just made fun of him

Totally. I never said i wanted to change BMs though, I have no reason to - yet ;)

I mean, it shouldn't be a requirement to organize shit and to know every single bit of the bracket, but it sure as hell (in my eyes) is a big plus!

Bracket managers dont represent? then what was up with the whole pizza situation when he was a BM ?
ppl didnt want a gy farmer to represent their bracket isnt that why he got dropped out of it?

I believe it was because he GY farmed the wrong person.

I remember the very game. Eliot made a point of rezzing and standing for us to kill him for 25 minutes straight. It was later found that he made a video of it and showed it to Shane.

Shane and I made the decision to remove Pizza from the then "Community Leader" position because his behavior in game did not reflect that of the then title "Community Leader" as Shane and I hoped it would (The name CL may have been changed to BM before then, nevertheless same role).

Regardless if he farmed that game you can go back in the staff section way before that when we considered removing him multiple times, that was the final nail in the coffin.

He got farmed on purpose, repeatedly rezzing, standing there, and dying for the whole game's duration to make his video look convincing.

but it worked

and who was forcing pizza to kill him repeatedly

imo the staff here at TI have a daunting task I for one would not want to endeavour..these guys deserve a huge thank you and they just don't receive it. personal beefs or not, they do a job when we all get off work/school and begin our leisure activities..

tyvm for all you guys do!

we see far too many complaints rather then thank you's and id like to take this time to say thanks!

now get back to filtering those negative derailing posts wudcha!

I died once in the video, I fail to see why this would lead you to assume I would die for 25 mins straight, I certainly wouldn't waste my time doing that. I feel kind of bad you remember the game (I don't), I hope you manage to get more important things to think about.
