Bracket Etiquette

If anyone had any old accounts that they haven't used for a long LONG time, it's fairly funny to go back and look at them. My old war was awful, lol.

God I was a noob...and everyone was at some point too.

@ everyone else: I'm perfectly aware of the limitations..but every little bit helps. This thread was just a reminder and..stimulus package, I guess.

Thought: Do we think we need a better place (sticky) for newcomers to TI to go as soon as they enter the forums?

I THOUGHT that was stickied once upon a time (may be wrong and it's not now, however), but that's exactly what I'm talking about.

I don't think you are beating a dead horse when you are thinking about how to make the bracket better, inform new players interested in twinking better, and how to make Twinkinfo the place to go to for that. I think that is pretty much what Masked Crusader wants, increased traffic. ^^

There were several voices for less clutter and a sticky for the thread and none against. If you think the thread is a bad place to start and worsens the welcome new players feel, and you want the older stickies back and the summary removed, you should post in the summary/those threads and say so! Your opinion can't be heard properly if you don't state it. I for one would like to hear.

Same with farming actually, people. If you don't like it, please speak up more when you get into a group who asks / attempts to do it. :)
 
There's a difference between casual and new players, and players trying to "twink" and just doing it wrong. A lot of people in the bracket are either new or casual, and you will not get someone with that kind of mindset into maxing out a character they have only a passing interest in. You'll just come off as some elitist jerk, and they will think you take this thing far too seriously. It's another matter if they are just noob and genuinely seeking help. Of course why they can't use Google or think for themselves is another matter.

As for the bracket, and what people here might consider etiquitte, GY farming has been decided by some people here to be wrong. It's not going to stop. You can personally stop it by not being farmed, don't res, cap the last flag, but you will not stop people from wanting to do it. This bracket exists solely because of 20 F2P. Playing 24s to go against what is 99% 20s is not going to make you any friends. Playing a hunter is not going to make you any friends. If you want people to like you, that's not the way to go about it, and nothing will change that.

TLDR: People won't change unless they want to. Preaching to the converted here will not change anything either. 24s and hunters ruin what would otherwise be quite enjoyable.
 
I personally have no love for 24's, be they horde or alliance. Which is why i always make sure to /spit before i get done smashing one. I'm sure its heart breaking to get roflstomped by trial accounts, so after you kill them take their insignias, its like an extra fuck you at the end there. :)
