Bonus Armor

The tool tips on the shadowpriest that I have indicate the bonus armor is indeed working.
FYI, armor only mitigates damage from physical attacks.

Tooltip doesn't mean shit if it doesn't actually do anything. FYI, autoattack (yes, even from a mage lmao) is physical damage.

I do not recall stating otherwise. That is unless you can find that quote for us.
As far as the test, that was not a very good control. It was done vs a toon that was 56 levels higher. For a true comparison, the analysis should be done versus a melee class, no more than three levels apart.

Kudos for trying though!

The results of the test were good enough for me. The difference between ~60 armor in default form and ~120 armor in shadow form was very evident in the tests. An extra ~80 armor from the 2 AB pieces should be just as evident and there was just nothing there.

As well, the fact that bonus armor does not appear in the Armor stat under "Defense" in the character pane and armory is a pretty good indicator that it is not being included in the characters defense.

There were four test groups. Yes/No SF and Yes/No Bonus Armor.

The attacking characters level was irrelevant here indicated by the statistically significant results between SF/ no SF. You're using the term "control" wrong in the context of AB testing.

As a player of both a warrior and a BM monk, I might be able to help out here, because I've done testing in the past.

"Bonus Armor" is not related to the "Armor" stat. "Bonus Armor" used to give "Armor" to all classes, and gave "Attack Power" to certain classes. They changed "Bonus Armor" so that it only gives stat bonuses to tanks now... and that means both the "Armor" value (relevant to your testing) and the "Attack Power" value.

This is why Armor Kits are now useless for any class but tanks as well. "Bonus Armor" isn't giving "Armor" value to anyone but tanks.

"Bonus Armor" isn't exactly the most straightforward of terms. 100% more armor is like extra armor, right? And bonus is just another word for extra, so you'd think that 100% more armor is bonus armor. Except it's not. Armor ≠ Bonus Armor.

They should really call Bonus Armor something else.*

*or get rid of it entirely because they are incapable of balancing it.

He just posted results of it not working. Mages AAs are physical dmg. Why are we still discussing it?

I don't know why YOU are still discussing it. I was finished with this thread yesterday. I gave my opinion on his/her method of testing and was done.

My TI hadn't updated and in the hurry I thought your post was the latest post. My bad :>

The funny part being I have no problem with being wrong. Being wrong is an opportunity to better yourself.

However, I am not a liar. You'd do well to apologize for your bullshit comments and dragging me into this thread.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Are you really that opposed to being a decent human being?

Not the first time I've had to look in on you two specifically about going at each other. The new CoC rules take intent into consideration when looking at trash talking, so please clean it up and stay on topic.

Edit: So people understand what's being asked here: I gave Donteventrii an informal verbal advisory through PMs to avoid ascribing intent (e.g. "liar") to other people's actions, because it can be very annoying to even reasonable people. Willix got an infraction because the reaction was over the top and served only to escalate the situation and turn this into an @thread. I would like it if everyone would stay on topic now.
