US BiS f2p resto shaman?

Just run the dungens/bgs for gears. at this point it doesn't matter since everything scales to you.
Hammer is from allied race starting set

ahh ok thats unfortunate. and yea ive gotten a decent set of gear so far from dungeons and a few world quests, im just having a hard time finding a weapon/bracers/ rings that i like

What he means is, at least wait until you're level twenty. Then all the gear that drops from dungeons will be good.

Specifically, for a resto shaman:

You'll want the full fang set from wailing caverns. Slitherscale? I think the mail version is called?

Then stack haste on the rest of your gear. So Silverlains Family Seal and Worgen Hunters Helm from shadowfang keep, the necklace from Blackfathom deeps, etc.

Que for random dungeons, because the satchels drop rings and necks that have haste and int too (unlike dungeon jewelry that won't have int)

The "best" gear is gonna come from the crates rewarded for winning battlegrounds. But get the full fang set, stack haste with dungeon blues in the rest and you'll have a quality "starter set". Save any marks of honor you get too because you can buy the haste heirloom gear with those.

BTW, I don't think you can get your heal to go lower than 1.3 second cast, so once you get there you can stack other stats.

this is probably one of the most important parts. That entire set you'll need. however, I might recommend the lorekeeper's ring / advisor's ring (depending of faction) over a second dungeon ring, and after bgs i'd recommend a bg rare combod with this ring and scrap the dungeon rings all together?

maybe @Phrontistery can give us some better input for our f2p friend here

yea i got the slither scale set already now, and i have 2 dungeon rings rolled haste/vers until i get a better drop from bg crates. it looks like shield is going to come from there too.

but now for consumeables and professions... the best i can see is the 2stam/2vers foods, using the wizard oil from enchanting and possibly getting a speed potion recipe again at some point. am i missing anything else from f2p?

Well if you really wanna be a Bis try hard f2p.Finish up your enchanting then take alchemy and herbalism.Get swift pot recipe and make a shit load of them. Then farm t1 and t2 herbs. Then switch out herbalism for inscription and make a shit load of t1 and t2 scrolls (int and stam). Then go to blood Myst and farm the repeatable quest that gives you buff crystals.(Int) I forgot to the name of the quest ):

scrolls are the buff on you, oil is buff on your weapon. oil only share space with sharpening stones from blacksmithing.

i'm not sure how far you are in to the game but if you never played it before do consider going veteran for a simple fact that experience banking will screw with you one day. altho you already probably banked few levels anyway so you missed that window by now.

oh ive raided in legion so i guess im technically a vet account. but i dont have any of the perks of being a vet on my toons, no professions or enchants or special items. the only things i have on my toons thats unique is like gfed trinkets and the lucky fishing hat on my paladin. so i dont think the exp banking thing will happen to me, but i dont plan to resub to get op consumables/enchants

so i heard jagged star was best in slot for mainhand, but then i just realised that mine has +4 secondarys and not +5 like other peoples... mine is ilvl23 and the ones in other screencaps i see are lvl24, am i doing something wrong here? and if not is there another mainhand 1h that has +% secondaries with 18 int? the greens on wowhead dont really show anything useful

The secondaries are somewhat random. So sometimes it will be 2/2 and sometimes 3/2.

Jagged star is one of many options that have the same stats, including BG crate stuff IIRC. Jagged star is notable because it has the weapon damage of an agi/str weapon instead of a caster weapon. So if you do end up needing to smack someone in the face, its slightly better. So you're probably better off using something with the 3/2 stats until you find the right jagged star.

Definitely want slither scale set, jagged star of the aurora, you can get your wrists, cloak and shield “of the aurora” as well.
It is what I have chosen to do for my level 20 resto shamans. I stack for survivability though.

/cheers

oh ok that makes sense i guess, but wait in what world are you ever auto hitting someone as an int healer LOL

Monk and Resto druids (FC) would probably be the primary users. Monks have various monk kungfu that can actually be decent - so it wouldn't be unheard of for them to be in melee range. Resto druids holding the flag as a bear can only do so many actions (maul, moonfire, growl, autoattack) without leaving bear form - so they'll often be dotting opponents and mauling them in melee range if they are choosing to fight rather than run/kite.

Dunno how holy pallies work, but I know they do have a few damaging abilities. Shamans probably won't see any real use...but perhaps you'll be running in ghost wolf past someone and can get a melee attack in. Every bit counts...sometimes. Its definitely not worth losing stats to use it.

i guess it also looks more fancy in the equip screen than just a bg piece too

Can resto shamans solo a dungeon easy? I can't decide if i should lvl a shaman or druid with that purpose in mind. Thanks.
