BiS Daggers for rogues

I actually did a lot of test duels with Pizza pretty recently on my Rogue and decided that Assassination is the best spec atm.

Stacking crit and using double Elemental Force is just fantastic. Elemental Force also benefits from the 20% perk the spec gives.

Yeah, I had to research the normalization to better understand it and be able to explain it clearly.

Nice find, I've personally never really focused on my Rogue after Cata and since then have just been updating slowly and following the norm. i/e what Curley used.

Gains for Sent's is 1 Agi, 2 Stam, 0.2 Melee DPS.

Gains for Heartseeker is 3 Crit rating (1.01%) and 1 Hit.

Using my basic knowledge of why Curley chose to roll full is crit is because it is highly benefitial, not only to your auto attacks but your Elemental Force procs (they can crit).

Thus, you can arguably say that Heartseeker is still better.

agreed for assass crit > definately but i was going more on just for the high end hit cuz im playing sub currently. thats prolly something i shoulda cleard up :p

Wouldn't double Shadowfangs be better for the higher white hits? :p

for white hits prolly yea but the ambush would be lower i think cuz dagger % increase on ambush seems to equal out to a bit higher end of a crit. then again not sure, someone might be able to prove me wrong :D

edit: i think it has to do with the additional dmg for ambush when using dagger vs not. 546% wep dmg + 246 for non dagger then 790% + 356 for dagger

i think that 110 difference for the additionally added dmg is what makes it higher

Yeah, based off of the Ambush tooltip, Ambush should definitely hit harder using a dagger and Sub is the best spec for that.

I'm not quite sure what dagger would be best in mainhand though, probably scout's errr actually Scarlet Kris, it has higher damage.

Your base damage doesn't benefit your Ambush damage whatsoever. Ambush is one of many abilities that has been a 'normalized' instant attack.
Your weapon base damage however does, and Balanced Heartseeker has 1 more weapon damage than Tail Spike.

Additionally, while Elemental Force is indeed unaffected by attack speed, Deadly Poison is not. It has a static 30% proc chance and therefore benefits from attack speed.
hey guys
you think SF and Talon is any good for Ambush opening? and then ofc switch to propper daggers after opened(beeing assasination spec)
anyways
Talon of Vultros will be nerfed to this ive heard :/ :Talon of Vultros
Talon of Vultros is already worse than just about every other dagger in the bracket in every possible scenario.

Also, Curley and I went through the exact same issue in this thread about a year ago, if anyone feels like reading it.

Indeed.

Hit does not affect the amount of EF procs you get.

That's also why Gloom > loom.

We've gone through that about a year ago.
