I feel like Blizz is doing everything they can to kill off Vets, first the no warning free time so some may and can lose their 20’s……

Now making Vets behave like FTP’s which is sinister seeing we get free time every now and then.

So we either lock XP and become PvE hero’s, or we can never log in again over a free weekend…….. and hope we don’t get caught out by sneaky Blizz giving more free time?

Might have to make a toon just to log in every time before I play my other toons.

To be honest this bothers me if it is intentional……

If Blizzard fixes this you can try sending a ticket to ask your XP be turned on again.

The way they fix it is to give you 1 day of game time and u fix it urself.

Unfortunately they have royally screwed us over this time!

The worst problem with free weekends (well now we are happy they dont come too often!) is that they're rising out of the blue, unannounced and - depsite what that $%$ gm told to our fellow - there is no good way to see what's going on and react properly.
The xp gains popups wont attract yout attention in most of case, standard interface has no proper warnings and stuff. and even if you get an addon - i had some manually modded by Brihan but maybe it lost that part with some updates - you still can fail. And this is why i beleive the full responsibility on this is on blizz, not players.

isn't it the case that lvl20s don't get queued with leverers and only with xp-off ppl?
So it doesn't make a difference for PvP if you are xp-on or xp-off
Or was it changed back?

This is disconcerting. My plan going forward was to turn xp off on my vet account toons and do pvp on my linked starter account since it wouldn't matter that way if they gave us free game time. With the warband bank and so much shared between them it's practically all the same now anyhow.

With them turning on exp with the free weekend it makes me start wondering if there is an in-game variable or two that an addon could latch hold of and put a big red "XP ON" across our screen, or let us know that free game time is active. (I didnt realize I had access to my other toons till Sat afternoon.)

another annoyance is that now it have a little popup at the corner telling me to resub to level up with the banked exp, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm crossing my fingers that the vet exp banking is a bug that will get fixed. It can only hurt them this way. I imagine there are vets who don't have much time to play but might want to sub part of the year when they do have plenty of time to play. That option is completely off the table now if that means their toon will level and become unplayable next month.

As a side note, I'm glad they added our inactive toons to the login screen. I'll be moving one of them to the top and looking to see if that (Inactive) label is showing before I hop on any toon now.

I have to check, was this code we discussed earlier active during last weekend or did i lost it while updating the addons.

Ed: yep, the version with vet-xp-warning was overwritten with update, i guess this code should be added to store version.

Mkay now things are slowly getting back to usual state, only need to ask them to remove extra banked xp we already got.
It's plausible they "you think we are going to help you, but in fact we won't"*

I'm less than optimistic, because Vrakthis says that it basically can't be done and that might be precedent for GMs. I just shoved all my gear, everything in my bags, and the bags themselves into my bank (I'm very happy that warbanks let me move extra stuff around) now to walk away for two months until I can manually reset my XP with a gear update.

i wasnt aware that gear update reset your xp. thanks for mentioning this, never seen it elsewhere but i havent looked at gear update info since it came out. does it do banked, or just your XP bar, or both?

Double checking every new relog now, nope, things are fine atm.
Also added back watcher code to Brihan_AdBlock (locally, idd, its up to honorable author to add this in retail)

Yeah I've just checked again and all is working but it happened so better to be careful just in case.
If you want to know quickly just look at the guild icon. It was greyed out and now it's back to normal too.

The extra exp on my hunter had fallen off this morning when I logged in. (This was exp I got during the free weekend and not afterwards when people were banking exp.)

I noticed that I was getting guild exp on my remix toon and the icon was colored. No experience gains however.

Whole bar down 0/(however much you need to ding the next level). Which would presumably include banked XP, but I've never had banked XP on a character before so I can't say for sure.

It also takes all your gear, everything in your bags, and the bags themselves and mails them to you. This is obviously annoying when we can't open mail, so be sure to stuff everything you want to keep into your bank or somewhere else off-character.
