After browsing the wow armory, the page was suddenly redirected to a page called rootscan. It mimicked the my computer screen ad attempted to install a virus. Just beware guys very convincing.

Yes, it just happened to me a few seconds ago. My friend said it happened to him on his WoW computer. He was hacked afterward, but we don't think it has to do with this threat.
 
I'm willing to bet both of you got your hosts file modified.

Sounds like you have a virus Nova. Basically what IAT said, I really doubt blizzard would let something like that on to one of their "off" sites.

It's possible that, that slipped through their add filters, I have ABP so I never even see adds xP. I really, REALLY doubt something that re-routes your browser would go un-noticed.



Try downloading Malware Bytes / AVG / SPD/ Etc, and scan your computer, most likely a virus or two =\
 
Yeah that virus shit isn't real. I had it pop up right when I first tried to check my guild today.



It's popped up several other times from different legit websites in the past; it's simply an ad trying to get you to buy antivirus software.



No worries. Just annoying as hell.
