With enchants and gear working in Instanced PvP again, I thought I should make a list of Best in Slot gear for Mages, since that is what I'm playing. However, I realized that this is only scratching the surface for us, so I wanted to start compiling a list for everyone.
If you are confident that you know Best in Slot for a different class, please make your list here. I will compile each BiS List into a total guide after we have reached a consensus for each class (and relevant spec).
NOTE: I understand that there will probably be different opinions, based on preference. The point of this post is to provide new users with a general gearing guideline. If you believe your prioritization is better, please state your reasoning.
Class-Wide Knowledge
- Always use the PvP Talent Adaptation, paired with Inherited Insignia. This provides you with way more CC’s Breaks.
- On Ring enchants, use the Binding of version, as this will be +2 Secondary Stat in instanced PvP.
Arcane Mage
Stat Priority: Intellect > Vers >= Haste > Crit
Stat Weighting Theorycrafting: 1.5 Intellect = 5 Versatility
I believe this is the optimal stat priority, as it provides defensive bonuses via Versatility, which is helpful for both (1) PuG's and (2) Getting burst in a Premade setting, as Mages have generally low HP Pools at 1.5k - 1.9k.
