Best heirloom weapons for casters

Infernal13

Legend
I know this could probably be debated until the end of time, but what do people consider BiS? DIgnified Headmaster's charge seems to be the obvious answer, but I think if you have AGM's and stuff you could use Staff of Jordan for the added hit. Also, does anyone know how good the Musty Tome/Aurastone Hammer combo is?

So ur question is AGM + Jordan or WSGTrink + Headmaster or ?? + ??... Depends on what caster class you play and what other gear you have. BiS always change and depends on the situation.

Mace for Max intellect and dhc for crit stacking. Gsoj isn't really needed these days since it was mainly used to hitcap.

Im assuming you're smart enough to hitcap withrune of perfection+spirit or perfection+ any hit item

Like rune of perfection + GSoJ? It's still got its hit rating, so I don't get why it's not just as needed nowadays as it has been before, considering you said it was mainly used for hitcap (unless you were referring to healers who get autohitcapped with passive, like Hurrx said)

Thats too much hit which is why I stated that gsoj isn't viable for hit these days, so stop trolling or grow some brain cells? Sorry but my point should be painfully obvious and since you're a regular user here I shouldn't have to explain any further.

It has hitrating, so if you are in need of some hit, it's perfectly viable for hitcapping. Maybe not the best way to hitcap, but that doesn't mean it's not viable. I mean, arms warriors don't do most dps in 20-24 right now but I would say they are pretty viable, no?

Ps. There are also classes/players/specs/roles that favor other stats than crit/int/haste, yet they also need hitcap.

The moral of the story is why would you bother with gsoj if you have access to dhc.

Because you could find the stats of GSoJ more preferable for your twink?

gsoj+silverpain boots+dpr'/lavishly jew ring. Now u can use agm w/o hit trinket.

But you lose crit depending on DHC+X-boots+Y-ring choices.

Hue was probably referring to GSoJ granting hitcap (almost) without any extra items in cata which is no longer the case, hence the "isn't really needed these days".
Stop talking past each other by trying to prove the other's point wrong and just clear things up, makes for cleaner threads as well ;)

OT: Uhm, depends heavily on class/spec but considering the OP mentioned DAS+Book I guess he means for priests. For my mage, since I'm not in need to get AGM (and I also cba) I run with boots+rune so I'm hitcapped and took DHC for the extra dps. I recently rolled a priest and will go DAS+Book at some point which will take a looooooooooooooooot of time.

I dont like to stress the fact that the warlock rocks, but he jus does,So, for all you staff users out there, feel free to come in and post, my staff is a good one, but here is how it goes
1. post message in the room
2. LOOK IT OVER
3. dont report anything, i might get in trouble :)
and 4. Have fun!!!

I'm just asking myself if it's you or me who is drunk.
Or is this esperanto?

Maybe different class/spec/faction needs to be taken into account.

I find GSoJ far less useful than it once was OVERALL since the rune of duty change and BG lvl adjustments.

And resil makes me sad now /tear.
