Beating Gemmers

I played a Warsong the other day. The score was 1-1 and both teams had the flag.
I go to return the flag, but the EFC is on the Ally shelfy explioty spot with a Sandbox Tiger - Item - World of Warcraft blocking the entrance.
There were 13 minutes left in the game. Eventually our entire team just stood around the EFC playing pocket pull until we lost 1-1.
I haven't read a bitch thread about terrain exploiting in years yet everybody is ready to put their Whiney Pants on when they see a gem...

(Also, read my post in this guy's voice for full effect.)

Don't even waste your energy Barenjager. You won't get a straight answer. Some players seem to think since a few of my MANY toons happen to be in a guild that the GM admits to gemming that I too am "evil" and despicable. If that is true then all Americans must be from Hawaii since PoTUS was born there.

So there's one bg where you finally can't one shot someone on your Fdruid gemmed mop reroll? Oh no!

You won't get a straight answer

This is to prove a point that you have gotten an answer PLENTY of times, you are just simply trolling now

my personal idea about exploits is; they are all "bad" if you use it to bother others.

If you are comparing me being able to get into ICC to get a ribbon as being the same as a 24 using 40 resil to take 20% less dmg or 40 pvp power to do like 15% more dmg then you're either a gemmer yourself or just blind to see the difference

Gems are the only exploit in the last four years that let you increase your character's power, and making a similar argument for thick armor kits is ludicrous at best. I mean, that is what, an extra 0.5% armor?

Like I said in a previous post if you don't see why 20% more dmg reduction or 15% more dmging attacks are game breaking or frowned upon more then a DK bug or a roof jump then you have your perspective messed up

If you don't think gems are a huge advantage, then you must know a bunch of idiots gemming +20 stam.

Holy cherry pick quotes Batman!!. Allow me.

1)"my personal idea about exploits is; they are all "bad" " Well there ya go, I could not have said it better myself. But then again I don't care if someone uses an exploit, it's all in the fun of twinking to find them.
2)".If you are comparing me being able to get into ICC to get a ribbon as being the same as a 24" What does this have to do with gemming at all? Did I mention you? No, get off your high horse. In fact I commended you for getting said ribbon and you came back with a snide remark.
3.)"Gems are the only exploit in the last four years that let you increase your character's power." I beg to differ. I gave three proffesion examples and the armor kit. Just because you did not "approve" of them does not mean they did not/do not exist.
4)"Like I said in a previous post if you don't see why 20% more dmg reduction or 15% more dmging attacks are game breaking or frowned upon more then a DK bug or a roof jump then you have your perspective messed up" I finally agreed that I had somewhat if an explanation for the gems(took two weeks) but not why all others are fine.
5)"If you don't think gems are a huge advantage, then you must know a bunch of idiots gemming +20 stam. " More name calling that went out in elementary school. I never said that gems were not an advantage or that I even condoned using them. I stated that did not care if someone used them. I have better things to worry about.

Anything else Lil? I really was serious before. You really do need to relax a little. You let this get to you a bit too much

/cheers and good games

You edited out my obvious points in putting those quotes in quote 1, 2 and 3. I "twink" to be the best as well and I understand that is the whole point of twinking however some of these 24 "twinks (or as I like to call em crutchers)" who gem are simply going to far imo. There is a line of whats acceptable and what's not and like it or not 95% of this bracket seems to agree that gemming simply is not which means anyone who gems will be an outcast against the general rule.

I said I was done in this thread before but I came back to try and get it through your head why gem exploiting and wall jumps or ribbon bugs aren't even close to the same level. Also please don't think I am letting this get to me. I promise once I realize someone gems I get a good laugh out of it (just as I did with baren cause I honestly just thought he was a good Fdruid until I armoried him and saw gems now hes just another bad 24). I just simply like to argue or debate and when I know I'm right I normally don't give up just like in this case. I am done now though cause I feel everything that can be said has been said and all that's gonna happen now is trolling or insulting and I don't want infractions when mods lock this thread ^-^

And 90% of statitics are made up. lol

Out of the ENTIRE 20-24 community how many do you think gem? What kind of ratio?

Is it really worth all of this trouble? I mean come on there better things to complain about. For instance, look at the price of gas or the price of milk or price of bread. Or better yet the price of bacon. Who doesn't love a bacon sandwich with a glass of milk? j/k

At the risk of boring everybody, here's a twink exploit story.
I use to have a 29 horde twink named Renado. At the time, the best ally guild was <Team Play>.
All of their main-stayers had Greater Inscription of Vengeance - Item - World of Warcraft and Arcanum of Ferocity - Item - World of Warcraft via a trade/mailbox exploit.
I was morally opposed to this so I got my cave stoved in by them for months (Which may have happened anyway...)
So I understand, and have once shared your mentality.

That all went out the window 2 months ago when I got my balls nuked off by the shockadin, Faíth.
I armoried her, saw she had gems, Googled how to do it, and wanted to compete this time around...

So what if you don't care who gems? How does that change the fact that pretty much everyone that I've seen gem (Honeybadger, Duo, Aklove, etc) failed at it by getting dumb stats? If you take the time to attempt to get an unintended advantage, you should actually do it correctly. If they don't then they are idiots. The idiot part wasn't even directed at you, so why do you even care that I typed it? You are either incredibly dense or you are from Sanctuary (whoops, that was redundant).

Wait, wait... backing up my short bus.

You mean to tell me that +stamina, +haste, +whateverdingbatstat isn't best in slot? You mean to tell me there is a right choice and a wrong choice for gemming? You mean to tell me you can fail while exploiting and be laughed at by everyone that has a modicum of sense? You mean to tell me it isn't a *playstyle* choice at all?

World. shattered.

Again with the name calling, my goodness. Tsk tsk...

I miss the twinking days of "Anything goes". If it's obtainable, use it. Whether it be overpowered bugged weapons, head enchants, shoulder enchants, leg enchants - chains or gems.

Oh how the scene has changed.

Things like pants enchants, librams, bugged mining, and even maxing professions higher than your level cap allowed were one thing: bugs. They didn't require exploits. Getting the old school shoulder enchants from Shat required abusing a mailbox exploit with your BOE shoulders. When you gem, you are gemming items that do not posses a gem slot, which most low level items do not posses. It requires having a profession at level 1 (BS), wotlk gems, and socketing assistance.

So now we're stating the obvious. Basically facts. What's your point?

What was your point? Times haven't changed. People still twink to create the best character they can. Gems/shoulder enchants (like I mentioned in the post you quoted) are completely different because they are exploits. That's why people dislike/disliked their usage. You listing a bunch of things that aren't exploits that people have done (or can do) since BC is completely irrelevant.

Back to the hub-bub. Why is every so upset about such miniscule part of the community. To put it in perspective. I am just making up numbers.WoW has 10 million subs. Say 1% of those trial. Very conservative estimate. Thatis 100,000 trials. How many helmets do we have? I am going to go off the deep and say 1000. That would be only .1% of the trial pop. I mean come on people. Get a grip. And these number are really skewwed in your favor. The percentage is way way less.
