Beating a 60 Ret Pally?

Since when did ret pallies become so good? Does anybody have a stratgey for beating them? I play a rogue and cant even seem to beat a level 60 paladin whos not twinked.

keep em stunned/controlled so they cant use or generate holy power lol. and hope they dont get some lucky procs to get free 3pt templars verdicts or instant cast exos. also hope they cant use CDs to get back in the game

Ill give that a try, thanks a lot! I've just been struggling with them all day today and finally I figured I'd post here to see what people suggest.

There is no way to beat them. Also they are faster than you, have increased judgement range which increases their runspeed upon usage, and crazy burst. If they are getting down in a fight, at 20% they get a free insta bubble, and then from there on they a) have nice heals, and b) have cds... also add in ccbreaking abilities, and their nice ability to cc.

its a rogue, so in a 1v1 increased range and speed dont matter. crazy burst relies on good rng for exo procs or free 3pt tempars procs otherwise you gotta build 3 hp

Sacred Shield is the problem, not the bubble.

both are a problem, but rogues have a lot of cds to use to reset the fight, especially if sub. sacred and bubble have CDs so you can get another opener then take it from there

while we're at it: i recently leveled my an old toon maintaining a honor title for vanilla to 60 and i agree retardins are kinda op, when exo's/templars procs dont come we can stay alive WoG 1-2 HPs just waiting until they do - and as such i've moved on from Hellfire peninsula ganking to Nagrand where opponents have a bit more hp and their head in the game (from what ive seen so far); and i'm wondering how do i beat a frostmage? I got totally annihilated by a 66 mage in nagrand yesterday; my first CS don't break his shields; i get frost nova:d; use HoF & HoJ to close distance; blink; use cleanse to remove freeze; try to gain distance but had to use repentence every time; (and most of the time id be dead by nove since Icelance hits like hell and one single frostfire bolt is usually enough to get me below 20% without have 3 HPs on me for WoG

base not; how do i beat a frostmage as a pally?

try to repetence first, then exorcism, then judgement to get near him. dont rely on hammer, because they can just blink. hell try to just spam exorcism.

Hmm, i've never lost to a ret paladin unless they've bubbled. Then again, I play a prot warrior. :)

Lies i have outright annihilated you in duels before without bubble.

Against melee just hand of protection, heal up, save your HoPo and then burst them down as soon as your HOP falls off. Play the waiting game for procs line them up and go to town. hardest exo i have done is 5.8k with all procs up, my trinket and kings on me.

To beat a ret you can start a fight off with garrote and tie in your disarm.

Load him up with bleeds and kite him make sure you are within 15 yards so long arm cant proc on judge. Restealth once you get Sac to pop on him and reopen unloading all your burst. If he still has bubble handy then you are most likely screwed and will have to reset again. By the time you get to try all over again his sac shield will be back.

Rinse and repeat all stesp while he has forbearance and you should be able to down him as long as you make no mistakes.

But don't worry next patch wog will have a 20 sec CD and force us to waste mana hard casting heals and having to blow CDs every fight.

Also the defenses like Sacred Shield were needed. Ret had no way to stay up when cc chained and in arena all anyone does is focus the ret because they are squishy and it is pretty much the same in EVERY bracket of PVP.

Im the only one who 2 shots ret pallys ?

Cuz im not having any hard time beating them ?

Lol random nobody troll poster is random. any ret who is geared right will kill any class outside of a geare/well played mage or hunter before they go down 1v1.

also you are not 2 shotting anything wearing plate with over 7k health that wont turn around and kick your teeth in.

bad mages you can take out with that opener yes. but the best way to do that set up is to land the repentance and close the gap (run) then exo and get a CS off. he will freeze you so hit cleanse then judge and if they slow you hit HOF and sit on their face. mages are tough but its more about getting them to blow CDs early than anything to net a win. (aka bad mages )

Good mages don't icelance spam or blow ever CD known to man and can kite well. the easiest way to sit on their face is force a blink. use judge to run up on them and pop bubble to avoid getting frozen while beating on them and finish them off with a hard cast exo once they take off after bubble expires and you get rooted.

the only class with enough burst at range that can nuke a paladin fast is a hunter while a mage will just drag it out. For hunters if they get aimed shot off and can kite decently then you might be in trouble.
