Assimilation - Sub Rogue (HIGH base damage!)

So I'm building a rogue with a high base Attack Power and fairly large Crit Build. No I wont sacrifice precious stats for small amounts more of attack power (example: Armor of the fang, etc) He currently scales up to 709 base attack power (unbuffed) in BGs and the 47% crit scales to 41% crit.
I also don't like to rely on procs such as Dancing steel or Mongoose because they aren't consistent and do not guarantee a large ambush. Id rather crit large for each ambush than rely on a proc->restealth->ambush to get the jump on an fc/enemy. Yes dancing steel hits hard, but the initial ambush wont and that small second is what determines weather a druid or hunter will escape my reach.
Im fairly comfortable with my current attack power/crit build as I tend to consistently hit 1.6-1.9k crits given that 41% crit chance. Over 2k given the circumstance/squishiness of enemy.

As for Professions, I have engineering for Parachute cloak (useful for damage build and LM jumps in AB), and will eventually be working on alchemy for 14 agility potions or whatever it has to offer. I will also farm Swiftness potions too :D!

It was a tough choice between alchemy or the 9 base crit from skinning, but the more burst from alchemy makes me want to go down that path.

It's still a wip and I plan on getting Ring of precision (hopefully) or another Signet of Argas through Faction change. Then maybe change back since undead are badass. Also 19 ap for bracers (just haven't gotten around to them yet) and AGM (if anyone has the courtesy of helping me realm hop).

Could always go 21 and get your hands on Broken Fingers of Hillsbrad and 2x Blackvenom Blade.

Those gloves have a nice base crit, but the agility is pretty sad. Also Im not sure if Blackvenom is worth it since you're missing out on max scaling for other items such as parachute cloak, feet of lynx, Necklace, etc. I'll probably just stick with trying to rack up another pair of Doomspikes. (I gave my previous pair to a friend who made a f2p style toon)

Personally I prefer crit over AP, so I figured I'd at least mention them. As for the scaling, the 21 stats can be seen here:

If I remember correctly, I only lost out on the 1 agility from the boots going from 20 to 21, but it's been a while now since I made the transition, so I could be wrong. I also don't have those bracers handy, so I wasn't able to provide the stats on those. Overall, however, I feel like you gain more than you lose going for that one additional level. Especially if your goal is to have a completely maxed out character.

If im not mistaken, agility is worth precisely 2 attack power? or something weird like 2.376?

My rogue hits like truck

All rogues hit like trucks.

But at least you came second in the stating the obvious competition.

In soviet Russia, truck hit like rogue.

But yea, I'm waiting for that key moment when efc has that 9 stacks as some under geared clothie, and I'm rolling in with zerker, sharpened daggers, rallying cry, agility elixir, and possible monk buff. A probable 900 or more base attack power and 50 or so crit chance. Oh how I dream of this day. I have my capture software ready when the day comes...

Dont forget about Outlaw Sabre - Item - World of Warcraft which scales to a massive 21.39 dps and 17 AP :)

I should have mentioned it, but I forgot. I did a lot of testing in BGs, and found that I did less damage on my ambushes, sometimes as much as 300. Whether it's worth it overall, due to the increased damage on hemorrhage, I suppose depends entirely on play style. I'm guessing, however, with the build the OP is going for, he's after big numbers. Definitely worth getting regardless, though.

Ur rogue looks deadly! /cower

Its certainly fun going through the process of gearing one's toon. Thank you for sharing this. I'm sure it helps others going down a similar path.

it will prolly be really satisfying 2 kill dat 9 stak efc or clothie as u stated. Cant wait for the lol vids.

enjoy the newbie bracket.

Btw
If ur going for initially burst agi ap try assassination.

@ Roboartist
this guy had like 0 armor, look at his hp.
but nice dmg even on naked player :)
and you have balanced hertseeker in mainhand (1,7 speed) you should go for 1.8 for more dmg
and one thing that you can use for ap buff http://www.wowwiki.com/Gnomish_Shrink_Ray
this item has a chance of giving 250ap to you, also removing 250ap, but its a buff, you can unclick it)

Yea I've been working on my Rog for quite a while now, people tell me here and there.

Aside from that, ive been testing dancing steel lately and ive been hitting 2800+ on mobs with just one DS proc. I might go double DS or maybe even double mongoose for that extra rare but extra satisfying ambush in BG's
