Assassination Rogue Question!

Hello everyone,

With the new patch coming, looks like Assassination is more than viable, i have a question/thought regarding the weapons we should use and what should be stack.

So, for anyone who doesn't know, lets start off with what is going to happen, you can find it HERE, but ill mention it below of course.

Assassination rogues are getting buffed by 30%+ damage on Mutilate and Envenom .

So, i think that Assassination rogues should stack agility and critical. And in my opinion, the talent should remain the same(Nightstalker) for the speed/ambush potential.

Now my main question is on what daggers we should use. There are different options we could chose,

1. Talon of Vultros x2 ( lv 7 + lv 11)
or
2. Assassin's Blade x2
or
3.Talon of Vultros + Assassin's Blade .

In my opinion, double Assassin's blade is good, because it gives you more critical, but that -2 agility on double Talon of Vultros provides makes me think a lot.

Once again, it is up to be discussed, so feel free to share your ideas/opinion on this.

The patch will hit live servers on June, 23rd, 2015!

Double Talon is definitely better than the other two options.
On top of having more agility, Talon of Vultros has more base damage over Assassin's Blade, meaning your Mutilates will hit harder especially since it uses both weapons to deal damage.

Also IMO when I play assassination rogue, I almost always choose Shadow Focus over Nightstalker.
With Shadow Focus you can get an extra Mutilate in your opener allowing for more burst and Combo Points to use afterwards.
I also like to use Shadow Focus because it lets you Sap more without having to worry about conserving energy for your opener as much.

Pretty hype about the Assassination buffs though to be honest. I always preferred it over Combat/Sub since it basically gives you a "perma Slice and Dice" since Envenom refreshes it to its 5 Combo Point duration, giving you more energy and combo points to do other things with.

ToV + WsG dagger or 2x ToV would most likely be BiS for f2p

ToV + Goblin Screwdriver for vet

ToV + BvB for 21+ rogues

agreed.

planning on using 2x ToV if i respec my vet rogue, ToV + screwdriver is also a good option - it's what i'm currently using for sub daggers, although i'm expecting that 2x ToV will offer higher mutilate damage.

This. And <3 Shadow focus

ToV will always be best main hand dagger. Off hand is for the stats mainly, not as much the weapon damage

WSG dagger and Gob screwdiver on option 1 and 2, wouldn't be as good! Because you need to stack agi+ crit, wich means, your base of agility should be high meanwhile you have as much crit as possible.

Well, that's not a vet thread, but I dont see point in making another one.
What do you suggest for vet ass rogue as a secondary stat? The main difference between vet and f2p is elemental force.
Eleforce is about ~30% of my damage, with 0 haste it should be ~ 20, so full haste gives 10% dps only because of eleforce + more insta poison procs + higher regen. Full crit + vers should give around 25% increase tottally, crit + mult or mult + vers are near the same or lower.
What are your ideas?

Haste should increase your damage by the most because it also increases the rppm of ele force.

I know that and have said that overall ~30% of haste is ~8-10% dps increase from increased rppm of ele force, but what about other abilities? How is haste affecting them? Would full haste set be better than crit + vers or haste + vers?

Is there a BiS enchant thread somewhere for level 20 veteran players? If so I would appreciate if someone links it.

Also I think the sheer consistency/fluidity of Assassination Rogues will make them more popular after the Buff.

Also sinister strike and eviscerate will have their damage increased by 10%, which is also good.

I'd like to point out that ToV is unique; therefore, no dual-wielding that one. ToV and WSG dagger will most likely be the only bis for f2p as mentioned above.

Is there a breakpoint though with crit and haste? I would argue a well round rogue is the best rogue, why try for 30% crit when you could have 20% crit & 15% haste. Haste is the best stat for combat rogues, what changes when you switch specs?

Thanks for correcting me. If one were to go after the other ToV, how would one obtain it? Pickpocketing the chests and using seaforium charges?
