Arena Grand Master trinket question

Are there any tips or tricks to get this trinket or the defending champion trinket? I don't have a large friends list so its a bit of a struggle to get either of these on my low level twink being that the arena is swarmed with teams of 100's making it impossible for me, and also the fact that I don't ever seem to see the chest actually spawn at any of the three hour increment times. Any info or tips on how to acquire this at lower levels would be extremely appreciated!

The timing of the chest drop can become inaccurate as the week goes by as the timer resets when short John drops the chest after his slow walk (I think?) But the best way to get it is really late at your server time for reeally early

unless theyve changed the spawn times on gurubashi you're wrong. every 3 hours short john starts walking.

This is not quite accurate. It used to drop according to the server time depending on time zone. So there would be a different time for west coast servers vs midwest servers. Now they all drop it according to PST regardless of location. So if you are in the midwest, you want to subtract an hour or two.

The chest spawns at SERVER time, every 3 hours starting at Midnight. It has NOTHING to do with your personal time zone and never has, not at least since TBC when I started playing. It also doesn't "reset" on the weekly DT or any server resets, other than when the game itself bugs out. At most it shouldn't be off by more than +/- 3 minutes.
