Are you scared to die?

i don't believe in afterlife and I would only be scared to die if I knew how or when it would occur

There are 2 types of people in this world.. Those who believe that the body and mind are 1 entity (monist) and those who believe that the mind is somehow disconnected from the body, and exists as a separate entity, like a 'soul' (dualist)

I used to be a dualist (like most people), because it's been practically drilled into me since I was a child, that there is an afterlife, and the soul lives on. I honestly couldn't comprehend that the 'soul' has an expiry date; until I started seeking the answers for myself.

After a few years I would say I'm a monist now, and I am much happier since making the change. It makes sense to me to believe that my 'soul' is a manifestation, created from the neurons firing around in my brain (which dies when the brain stops functioning), than to keep asking myself the same questions over and over, and never come to a logical answer.

As for Heaven... I ask this question to all religious people out there:.... When you go to Heaven, and you sit on your cloud (or whatever) peering down at Earth, at all the war, all the famine, poverty and merciless killing going on in the world.... Do you really think that Heaven is going to be a lovely calm, peaceful, loving place to be?... Think about it.

So.. Am I scared to die? Nope; unless it is a slow and painful one... But I think that's the general consensus among non believers.

No I'd love to end my suffering.

absolutely, however it's all grounded in irrational human emotion, kind of like how i would be scared if someone puts a gun to my head

"after this life" you won't know wtf is going to happen since your brain's going to shut off once you die, no reason to be curious besides loopy philosophical endeavors

Evidence for the Afterlife- Psychics

don't be so quick to dismiss notions of an afterlife. While i agree with you some of these theories are pretty interesting

I'm more scared of what happens after you die, you're going into a world of the unknown...all these possibilities could happen however we will never know. Even people who have been brought back from the dead don't truly know what happens after death.

It's a scary prospect however it's natures way of doing things.

I would prefer NOT TO DIE,

but, I don't believe in any sort of afterlife, and I don't care if there is - I've always said I'll die young, so we'll see lmfao

funny? do you think religion is a joke? god is 100% real and there are so many facts. i mean have you even read the bible? non beilebers go to hell. and you sir are going to hell. maybe if you would go to church just once. you might find god in your heart somewhere.

I don't have to think anything about religion for it to be a joke. The bible doesn't even begin to explain the universe we live in, you'd be better off with an internet connection to Wikipedia. At best, religion is role playing for people who are 'too mature' to play D&D.

na religion has a much better purpose, mainly a psychological one. the genuine-ness of a person relies least on their religion

This pretty much sums it up very well.
