US Archaeology AP farm guide and group results

The 110's are not really a problem. I can still kill a pack of 5 smaller 110's and with some time, also the elites.

In Azsuna, the elite raptors can be cc'd and also in the harbour area in Stormheim, the 110 elite giant can just be kited around while you survey the area.

Today is Azsuna for EU, will report back on some findings later tonight. can spend a few hours more to reach the last 150 levels and continue searching for AP.

Fun fact, you can survey while flying as a whisp from the legendary boots, you only need to land to loot the treasure.

I've set up an Ally but need to raise funds on other realm to gear it

One of the gold dig sites in Azsuna (south) is infested with max level elites making it a pain to farm for 98-100, and even some 101 twinks.

You meant THAT digsite - "Temple of a Thousand" somethings.

I ran in thinking i could just avoid them and had 5 or 6 on me, took a while to kill. They also have some annoying knockback to prevent you from picking things up. Maybe you can get your main in to clear then re-log to survey in future

I liked your guide. I wanted to say, I am stubborn and tried Surumar this week on my 101 BM hunter. The 110s aren't a problem for me, even in the gold area with the elite 110s. However, the payoff is absolutely horrible. I got WAY more AP doing Highmountain last week in a given hour than I did in Surumar. I did the gold dig site numerous times (and it sucks due to the 110 elite rare boss that hits like a Mack Truck) and didn't get 1 single boss to pop.

I realize the best AP farm has to be in groups. Solo is just so slow it isn't an efficient AP farm.

Agree with you garden, i found zero AP in Suramar. I also do solo if i'm not boosting dsungeons (which can also accrue little by little AP)

I got a hunter to 101 and trained archaeology to see whether it's still a decent source for artifact power. Although I realize this wasn't recommended as a solo endeavor, that's what my circumstances dictated.

My very fist survey netted me 300 AP! What a great beginning, right?

Since then, I'm up to 296 and have only seen maybe 3 other AP rewards of 85 each.

I hope as my archaeology skill increases, the AP rewards will, too.

11 April 2018 update: Highmoutain (US) archaeology zone transitioned to Suramar. Current skill level is 676. I know others have said no AP to be found in Suramar so my expectations are low but I'm going to do it anyway because who knows

• Found a Moon-Rune of Elune for 400 AP in a digsite just south of Meredil! Oh yeah, Suramar, I love you!
• Found another Moon-Rune of Elune (400 AP) in a digsite between Jandvik and the Crimson Thicket. Maybe Suramar was hotfixed to provide more AP, or maybe I'm just enjoying a string of beginner's luck. Either way, Suramar has by far been my most lucrative archaeology AP zone so far.
• Found a Marble Arrowhead for 300 AP in the Koralune Manor (gold/elite) digsite. There was another 110 (friendly) doing archaeology here so the giants weren't much of an issue for me individually.
• Found Ancient Suramar Silver (epic/purple) for 750 AP! Archaeology skill now 762.
• Found another Marble Arrowhead (300 AP) at Moonshade Sanctum digsite. Archaeology skill capped at 800.

I don't suppose there's much point continuing to update tonight's digging results. Suramar can be a lucrative source for archaeology-sourced AP. To be clear, I've done all solo archaeology from 1 to 800. Maybe not as good as grouping, but it's been fairly kind to me overall.
