any point to being a P2P 20 twink?

From a high level perspective, business demands are why F2P exist and it is not intended to be played free for perpetuity. Blizzard will most likely, as a commercial enterprise, work to "encourage" new pay accounts. Who is to say that it is not by design that the F2P PvP'ers do so at a disadvantage? Does that disadvantage not encourage upgrading to pay to play as soon as possible? Taking it a step further, do you really think Blizzard will do anything to ease the disadvantage? My only concern is that if TOO many are staying at F2P they can nerf them at any time. In so doing they can kill off a chunk of the activity with no warning and negatively impact the queue times for those of us who pay to play.

Its a double edged sword. If someone was legitamately trying the game, if there wasn't a healthy F2P population, all the lower level zones would be devoid of players and the low level dungeon and BG queues would be non-existant. That might turn off a new player thinking the game is empty and like that at 85.

When I was paying, I played the 85 bracket for PVP. Why would I pay $15 a month to play WSG in the 20-24 bracket all the time?

Why would you? That of course is up to you. However, there are a great many players who for many reasons twink at one level or another well down from end game...and they do it all the time. I personally have more fun in the 20-24s than I do on my 85s. My guild has 92 RBG wins and I do enjoy that level PvP as well. However, I am a very social person and meet new people every day. While I am 46 and most of the young guys think me half dead, I can still take them to the rack and score on them...oh and yeah...play WoW and not ashamed of it. When it is relevant to my conversation I will tell people about the fun I have in WoW and invite them to try it some time. I like being able to introduce an entirely new player to WoW and twink them up in a few days and have them playing with me in that short amount of time.

Additionally, while currently playing WoW a fair amount, when I can't twinking allows me to get the most play in the limited time I do have.

True to a degree. Yet Blizzard tracks F2P, I am sure of it. Marketing today has dashboards of real time stats and trends. If Blizzard wants to "encourage" lower level zone activity it does not have to allow long term F2P PvP as they can do a great many tweaks in order to get what they want...and they do. I am a technology, product guy (marketing)..with a background in development. There are a million ways to skin the cat and believe me Blizzard intends on skinning cats. If you catch my drift...

Imo the only reason to twink at 20 with enchants is to fool the other players not to focus you, like they do the 24s.

Let's list people hated:

1) any 24
2) any p2p 20
3)any lvl 20 f2p hunter
4) any lvl 20 f2p rogue
5)all alliance in AB

Only people left under played f2p classes, what a bracket it would be
bunch of f2p pallies until someone complains about that, which will be in MOP with speed buffs.

I have no issue with the above. I only have issues when you get the 24 hunter (for example) bragging how skilled they are at pvp because they have XXXXX amount of KB's or can 1 shot someone and then make a video of their PVP prowess. When, we all know there is 0 skill involved.

I have issue with GY camping also, but F2P's are also guilty of that too.

Other than these 2 issues, I have no problems for the 20-24 bracket.

Pretty sure Pallies are even more faceroll than Hunters. Pretty sure.

Also, *hate* is a strong word. It's probably not appropriate here.

I don't even mind 24 braggarts. I know why they are bragging, just like I know why they rolled 24. I don't mind at all :)

Only behaviour I have a problem with is GY farming. And I know why people do that too. S'all good.

I don't get the respect thing either. We are all faceless pixels here. I never log on after work and say "I'm about to get respected" I just log on and play a few bg's to have fun and wind down from the day then i'm off. If u want to respect me, respect me for my charity "The Pole Vault" which houses, homeless strippers and provides food and G-strings till they get back on their feet.

I like your charity and fully support. We need to support single mothers and other single women trying to fund their way through college!

Does 20s receive more respect than 24s in the 20-24 bracket or is being lvl 20 with enchants, just as destroying to the bracket (No, i'm not hunter, pally or rogue)

To put it frankly, you will not gain much initial respect from playing a 24, but like in any other situation, respect is earned, not given.

Unfortunately it's not a symmetrical situation: proliferation of 24's will discourage 20's from playing, but the reverse is not true.

If the games get so its mostly 24s, most 24s will quit tbh, so there really is a balance. Its not necessarily the lack of 20s that will stop the 24s from queing, but more the 24s that will.

I wouldn't bother to make a 20 P2P, just go straight for 24.

I have a 20 P2P, and I have a 24 of the same class... Both characters get flamed by the butt-hurt F2P's.

There's no escaping the hate, so you may as well go out guns a blazing.
