any point to being a P2P 20 twink?

There is NO point paying for this game and playing in this bracket. There are much, much better brackets to play if you pay for the game.

So NO, there is no reason to PAY to play a 20.

I honestly don't know a bracket better than 20s where i can talk to chill people that are on ALL day. If all you do is pug and get rolled over by 24s then i feel sorry for you my friend. Ive played 70s, 19s, 39s, and even 85, yet i still find 20 the most enjoyable.

I play to tickle 20's . Pay for cable but your not allowed to watch PBS, NBC , ABC, FOX, CBS .... Since you pay for satellite or cable . It's like when your parents say they don't want you talking to a certain person you might do cause you were told not too. When a 20 says for us not to play this bracket oh I got to play . Just fyi.

Does 20s receive more respect than 24s in the 20-24 bracket or is being lvl 20 with enchants, just as destroying to the bracket (No, i'm not hunter, pally or rogue)

Playing a paid 20 is just as destroying as playing a 24. It is the enchants that make the difference. Only newish players respect p2p 20s more. A lot of f2ps hope that people will roll paid 20s on the opposing team rather than 24s just bc it is slightly easier to hit them.

Personally, the only advantage I see in playing a paid 20 is that you can fool a few players. Any more, most people know who the 24s are and will try to focus them. If you play a paid 20 without ridiculous health (save that for if you fc), you can go by mostly unnoticed. A lot of 24s I see seem to like tanking the opposing team, but if you roll some healer you might not want to.

I've also heard these silly excuses for rolling at 20 instead:

*I'm too lazy to get new gear--came from an alliance priest, which I'm pretty sure would have been one trip to Gnomergan and maybe the AH
*I don't gain any new talents/abilities--the whole point is filling up the talent you have put a point in to make it better, the latter being a lie, plus the ability to see stealthed 20s

You will never get respect from everyone. ^^

Some people will respect a level 20 limiting themselves to F2P restrictions, for others this will be a reason to withhold respect, because they see this as unnecessarily gimping yourself.

20s with P2P enchants will be welcomed as 20s by some, but the deceptive nature of significant stat increases while appearing as F2P will award them no respect from others.

Some 24s will respect nothing but other 24s because they have encountered rudeness or harassment from F2P players, or feel that the entire idea of free twinking is in some way unfair to paying players.

Some people will only respect someone who adheres to a defined playstyle or behaviour, e.g. strict no camping / always camping policies.

You will never please everyone, so I would just think about who and what you yourself respect most and roll with that. :)

I personally have a lot of respect for the people behind characters like Çer, Êarl, Brovonlonski, Gourmande, etc., who limit themselves to the F2P restrictions.

Well. In my case I wanted to roll a lvl 20 druid fc, but I didn't want to be level 24 cause then I would be hard to hit for the opposing team.
How about not using overpowered enchants but using heirloom head and cloak and items like Spidersilk Boots? Is this also frown upon. Just some interesting points I try to bring up hehe :)

As Yde pointed out, you will never please everyone.
I'd suggest making few character's (F2P 20, P2P 20, P2P 24) and play with all of them to eventually see what u like the most and what responses you'll get on each char.
As for F2P community, most of ppl look down upon either 24's or 20's with P2P enchants since you have significant advantage over us in both cases.

I'd also suggest making F2P 20 char on new account so if u ever decide to stop paying for WoW, u can continue playing on F2P char

Sadly, those who show no respect crave it the most...and fail to realize how in order to be respected you must give it where it is due AND be respectable. Dads and more experienced men are not getting the job done getting that message out... =(

As you well know, this is a game. How you have fun is on you. I have a F2P paladin underway but play my 24s too. The trend is toward more 24s so be warned. As long as both teams have approximately the same number of 20s and skill levels you can expect a good game. If you are Horde side you can expect near instant queues 24/7 and we owe that to the F2P players. We need more Horde to help bring down queue times for the Allies. F2P players usually go Ally because the gear available to them is so much better. Have fun...respectably. =D

Right now, and hopefully in the future, the large majority of players in our BG's are lvl20 so I definitely respect your decision to stop at 20 for hit reasons. Stat enhancements aside, seeing your crucial ability miss 4 times in a row is like a kick in the balls.

Yde is right that you must decide whose respect you value and desire and then act accordingly. Personally I think a lvl 20 not limited to f2p gear/enhancements is the other end of the spectrum from lvl 20's who cruise into BG with 400 HP, no trinkets etc, and I'm OK with it. Lvl 24's are on a whole different level of OP. Pun intended.

Yeah I'm very curious where exactly the equilibrium will fall. I imagine it depends on who does a better job publicizing the bracket (24's or f2pers) as well as the rate of new starter editions vs. new paid subscriptions. Unfortunately it's not a symmetrical situation: proliferation of 24's will discourage 20's from playing, but the reverse is not true.

Start a p2p 20 with f2p restrictions and see how you like it. You can always add p2p gear/enchants.

The proliferation of good 24s that know how to gear/play their toons might. Fortunately for those of us who feel wow pvp is no longer worth our money, such 24s are few and far between :)

Well I definitely can only speak for myself, but I'd rather play a bad 24 because then at least I stand a chance...if I'm in a group...and they're not a hunter.... The proliferation of good 24's would drive me out of this bracket faster. The proliferation of good 20's however would make me happy :)

Thanks for the answers. Will concider all of them and possibly try out all the different alternatives :)

Why would you play this game to be accepted by other people, just play the game. It's your time. Not theirs. o_O

I definitely see your point and agree that a game is not the best place to look for respect in your life. However, this is an MMORPG and the MM is critical. The pvp aspect of WoW is a fundamentally social endeavor so it's not unreasonable to be concerned with how your WoW peers will perceive you.
