I know it won't happen, but do you think there is anything Blizz could do to stop WSG GY camping?

What if there was an invincibility period after respawning? Just something to make it so that the team spawning would have the upper hand on the campers.
 
The respawning team already has the upper hand on the campers imo. Even if everyone on the opposing team is there at the gy camping everyone on the team getting camped, the spawning team comes back every 30 seconds with full health and mana. This should enable them to beat the campers back... but when it doesn't, it's because of a disparity in gear, experience, or that one team is capable of a lot more damage class-wise.

If you ask me making Pvp less bursty would make camping significantly more difficult, but there will always be cases where a team is just not capable of overcoming the other team.
 
im Loling so hard at that horrible idea. GY camping is part of the if you dont want to be camped either win, do the camping, or just afk out

Obviously, you enjoy standing at the other teams GY casting aimed shot on players before they can buff. You're a winner. If you ran Blizzard, nothing would get hotfixed because you would just tell the so-called 'whiners' to quit...

Blizzard wouldn't do this, because in an effort to encourage flag capturing (ironically enough) Blizzard lowered the graveyards which forces us to be camped to begin with.

Anti-Caming Measures are as follows;

1. Active Puggers (Most Alliance Side players) create awareness. Let puggers know that there is a website called twinkinfo.com with guides and information to better their playing experience. One example being; That at the beginning and end of a match, I hit this macro Once. Only Once, do not spam battleground chat.

2. Stop Pugging.
 
The answer is very simple, and has been used for decades in other CTF games.

Don't reward all kills equally. Reward attacking FCs, people healing FCs, people within a certain distance from FCs, or attacking people who have recently done damage to FCs.

If players are farming kills nowhere near an FC, give them 1 honor for every 10 kills. The current scoring system is not appropriate for a CTF game. It is more suited to team deathmatch, so it's no wonder players end up playing that way.

The GY change in WSG was ass-backwards retarded. I dont understand why they felt the need to drop the rez spot down below where it used to be. If they had left it the same, it makes farming harder and less of an issue. Or if they had RAISED it instead of lowering it, farming would be impossible.

Which team has all their DPS positioned to attack the other team's healers the instant they spawn?
Which team is also best positioned to CC the other team's melee and ranged, preventing them from closing on their own healers?
Which team has it's healers safely positioned out of range of opposing melee and ranged?


Practically every other FPS/3rdPS I know of that has done CTF, has used spread random spawn points, and set spawn times after releasing from death. Yes they still have spawn camping, but not to the extent that the entire team can be camped. Anyone camping a single spawn can very easily be flanked and taken out by players coming from the other spawns.

Blizzard has made it where it is impossible to get out of getting camped, unless you don't rez. They obviously like the idea of camping in some way. I doubt they will change their mind.
 
At endgame you gain more honor from winning the games.

They made the graveyard changes for END GAME because it gives the opposing team better chance to capture the flag because as they whittle down your defenses, they just can't run back into the flag room, so you're encouraged to capture the flag.

At lower level brackets, it's more profitable honor-wise to farm so they can just cut off all exits to the graveyard. This encourages you to reach end-game PvP quicker and level out of brackets, and pay for their game.

This doesn't nessisarily destroy lower bracket PvP, but at times it completely discourages players to play.

Blizzard probably likes this, because playing a lower level twink bracket means players play less to reach "their end-game" and players who play to the real end-game are too invested to unsubscribe, where as in the past on any of my twink accounts, I let them freeze all the time, because end-game for me was 18 levels and a few gold pieces away.

TLDR;

It's another mechanic to encourage you to subscribe. And it's not going to change in the foreseeable future. Just put this on the back burner with Hunter's, Kale, And leveling past 20 as a trial account.

You get more honor considering you have qued for RBG or WSG Honor weekend. if not, then it is for camping and same way with twin Peaks. During the PTR, It was brutal, getting farmed at WSG and Twin Peaks. And i highly doubt anyone does it for "strategy". If someone tells you they do, it's a big sack of bull shit.

Healing an FC should be extra points over healing someone else. If you 1v1 with someone and win, you should get all the honor instead of everyone in the BG getting credit. These are just a few out of hundreds of examples.

As polished of a game as this is, I think it's crazy that bassicly every other multiplayer game has a much more elegant, efficient and complex scoring system. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but right now in wsg, everyone gets honor for a cap, everyone gets bonus honor for winning and everyone gets credit for every hk. The only mechanic that is based off an individual is losing honor from a death (right? or no.. im not sure)

If the scoring system was changed, it would make the game more fun, encourage objective gameplay, and reward pro skills instead of rewarding mindless camping(which is def the best honor atm).

What's a few seconds invunerabilty going to do? The campers would just back up? The only way to fix it is to get rid of camping indefinetly. Make it where horde or alliance can't get up to the top. It is very trashy, and very unbalanced. You can't get out of it, and It's bull shit. It's just asking you to camp people,
 
There should be something you can do. At least when you're being farmed by a team that's holding flags, thanks to that one idiot who won't stop rezzing. Why should the rest of the team (and anyone else who joins to replace them) have to sit it out or accept deserter, just because one guy wants to be a dick?

Vote to surrender would be a good idea. Give the campers extra honor for being able to push you back, but don't make players sit there for ages getting farmed for it. If the team vs team K/D ratio goes over a certain limit, and a large number of kills are happening in the GY, then the losing team should get a surrender prompt, so they can leave with what little honor they've managed to gain, and without a deserter debuff.

The few seconds of invulnerability would let you buff and prepare a bit.. it would help, not solve. The solution, imo, is a revamp of the honor scoring system... (and maybe a path to escape the gy to uptop :p)

The blues on the EU forums said that it was to prevent gy farming and gy camping. Well we all know it didnt prevent gy farming and i guess the blue who said it made a mistake and didnt understand it himself but the other blue said, gy camping, it was for not letting the fc get near/in the gy and get directly spawning support and was just implemented for rbg'ing.

I believe that it will be changed tho since it hurts more then it benefits the majority.
