An Update After Last Nights Qs

I love how this poor response is all about the soccer dads! you gave no constructive answers. Just, "I have a job and kids". I have a job and a child too. I'm more then willing to give up an hour of sleep or so a few nights a week to enjoy myself! Stop complaining and be helpful to the bracket.

I suggest sunday nights as well. no other ques really pop on Sundays so seize the opportunity?
I also suggest an earlier start time for Soccer Dads to get a few games in. say 5pm?
I suggest we get a guild recruitment thread going. (I will start that right after my rant)

Let's be proactive and guide this in a good direction. let's not sit back and que one night a week and watch it die due to lack of interest.

You're ignoring that I've been in 39s since vanilla, been present for every revival and seen every one of them get wrecked because kids like you think THIS time will be different if we jump from once a week to three nights a week after the fist successful round of BGs.

This isnt complaining. This isnt me saying "please cater to the one time a week I can play". This isnt me avoiding offering solutions.

This is me, with a decades worth of experience in this bracket, telling you that we've tried your solutions. They've failed. Multiple times. It's time to try something new.

Sunday is usually bad because of NA Football. A weekday should come next, but after at least 4 solid weeks of games in which 2+ concurrent games on Saturday. bigmoran 's last revival was an utter failure for trying to do too much too fast (and not having a dedicated bracketmaster/qlist).

Great point, football season is upon us. I vote for Tuesdays (no football).
I'm sure Moran did his best. he seems like a smart guy. I've never talked to him personally. I would like to hear what didn't work in the past besides "going to fast"

Also, how does anyone plan on growing this enough for a twink cup in 6 months (can't be much longer or it will conflict with 19s) when you all want to be causal soccer dads and play 1 night a week (serious question)? A twink cup announcement should draw in a lot more players who want to practice more then once a week, especially once a date is set. seeing as Livingforce is setting things up for a TC I don't think the "slow and Steady" pace is going to work.

I don't see anyone stepping up for "bracketmaster". let's start asking around. wouldn't mind throwing my hat in.

always welcoming constructive crit :)

first off, thanks for calling me a kid. Im not... Secondly, it's different this time I would imagine. Because the 39 TC announcement. YOU still offered no solutions, just a decade worth of failing apparently.

The solution is looking at 4-5 revivals where a failed second or third night caused the entire bracket to crumble and going "yup, we pushed too hard too early. Lets not this time." The solution is not to keep doing the same thing that fails time and time again.

Im glad you're hyped about the bracket. I really am. Im glad you're here. Im glad you're pumped. Keep that hype going into next saturday. And the next. If guilds form and start wanting to practice on weekdays, they'll say so. They'll invite pugs and other guilds to que against them. Things will happen organically and theres really no need to force it this time.

But hey, you don't have to believe me or Yoube or HB or any of the other bracket veterans. Dismiss our experience. Assign yourself "bracketmaster" (lol). Push it. Watch it crumble before a date is even set for the 39 cup and everyone loses interest.

He did offer a solution, you just didn't like it. You can't treat this bracket like 19s. It doesn't have the same base population, and you don't get the additional traffic of random people who happened to turn off their XP to help games pop on slow days/nights. Consistent games require a lot of people actively supporting the bracket.

When you have more nights, you get more people taking nights off. You need a lot of active and dedicated players to keep quality games going on multiple nights. When people get a bit burnt out or skip nights because games happen a few times a week, games are going to suffer some nights. Pops will start later and end earlier. A bad night where games end super early is a huge detriment. After a shitty night or two, people from 19s/29s will go back to their bracket and people who resubbed for 39s will quit again.

It's the first week. If the 39 twink cup is 6 months away, there's plenty of time to ramp up activity. I have faith in Livingforce and a lot of hope for a 39 twink cup, but at this point the tournament is still just an idea. It's not concrete enough to make 39s instantly go from 0 to 100. The game seems pretty fun at this level, we'd all love to have instant activity. I don't think anyone's saying we'll always only play Saturday, just recommending we take it a bit slower this time.

If you know people that are interested but can't play Saturdays, get them to start leveling and gearing a 39 now. There's most likely going to be an extra night or two in the near future, and it'll be a lot more sustainable if the burden of activity/quality/competition on new nights doesn't fall solely on the same exact people already making it happen on game days.

I was never assigning myself bracketmaster, I suggested we look around for one and I said I would throw my hat in the ring. Secondly your snide remarks aren't needed. YOUR shit talking/starting is probably part of the reason some poeple quit, or dont want to follow your footsteps. just sayin.. enjoy your high horse. you didnt even ask about my twinking experience before you assumed you have more experience then me. don't have me beat Im afraid. I might not have been active on forums in the past, but I've been queing 39s and 29s (more) since BC. So quit the "know it all" shit and stop riding Yoube's and HB's coattails.

P.S. Im excited you're here and part of the active 39s community as well :)

1. Need Horde healers
2. Need Ally FCs
3. Need More mages and locks (to CC those annoying shaman and monks into oblivion)
4. 19s meta isnt gonna work here, please stop trying and then complaining that it doesnt.
5. Warriors are still Most Fun Class in the bracket (you know, in my obviously unbiased opinion)
6. Best FC is probably still resto druid but they require a bit more team support.
7. I did not get juked off graveyard by Roula. One up on Moran.
8. I also killed Rubikz once. Bucket list item checked.
9. Arenas are a blast at this level.

Agreed with 1 2 and 3

Far too many rogues, shamans (and later into the night, BM monks). I'm guilty myself of playing BM monk earlier in the night, but I was not using Guard at all because I was told there was a community-wide ban on the ability. After my first game, several other people that were in my exact game either logged over to BM monks or respecced to BM and were just spamming guard the entire game, and I didn't want to play that way to match those players so I just logged off my monk and started playing priest for the rest of the night. Guard is disgustingly broken, and if there isn't already some sort of ban on it, there needs to be. Having an undispellable shield that absorbs almost your entire health bar worth of damage on a class that already takes less damage than normal on a 30 second cd is just ridiculous.

4. I'm not really sure what you mean here - the 19 meta isn't going to work? If you're referring to a more mid-oriented playstyle unfortunately it can and will work; controlling way more of the map by controlling mid generally gives your team a huge advantage because the opposing team is very restricted in plays they can make, and your own FC has way more of the map to work with and be safe. I'm sure there are a lot players who farm mid just because they aren't objective minded at all, but there are also those who do it because they realize that it creates an advantage for their team.

I've seen this complaint from a lot of people, and I think people just need to realize that the golden days of everyone breaking off into offense/defense aren't going to come back. As much as I loved that style of play myself, mid just offers so much more control in the game and I don't see people going away from it. Of course once flags are both in their bases it's a different story, but even then making sure you have the jump on the other team (by clearing mid) still provides a very big advantage in the game.

Agreed with 6.
Agreed with 9, arenas are very very fun here, I hope more people will be queueing them regularly.

I would like to say as a new player to 39's I had a lot of fun playing last night and really enjoyed Healing as a Rdruid. After the first game I joined I noticed the lack of FC's and quickly made a FC set. I prefer healing though.

Anyways the games leaned a lot towards Alliance and that doesn't bother me one bit. I prefer Alliance. So horde just step it up. (Can't control every bracket) I like the idea of every Saturday night for the time being and will be queuing as much as I can.

I would like to think that I helped by making an FC set last night and I encourage others to start trying to help your side instead of being so concerned about HK's or farming people. Objective play will always make better games and be a lot more enjoyable when both sides are focused on winning. The most fun I had last night was when both sides were trying. Few games horde had no FC they still tried and guess what happened when they capped? Motherfuckers on Alliance were /afk Please stop it, it just makes you look like a sore loser. You can't win every game.

Thanks guys for the fun night and look forward to next Sarurday.

I dont ride on Youbes coattails. I ride on his shoulders. He's tall. I like the view. He's the Groot to my Rocket.

I meant more like the "warrior and BM charge up, casters hang back, we engage with front and rear lines, etc" type of thing. So not really"mid wont work" because you're right, it does. But rather "how you're used to positioning yourselves in mid wont work".

I hope the idea of offense/defense dies. While intriguing, it was a pretty boring play style. Give me more mid farms. I mean "containment".

as someone whos watched the same trials and failures, i tend to agree with chops but im no expert so just keep rushing!

Reading what you stated on the first page about horde needing more healers. I have a 39 affi lock ready to go and will start making a healer on horde side.

P.S. I am looking for a 39 twink guild on BH horde. add my btag: tommybird#6485

just learned soccer dads are a thing. oh well, already got this horde priest going. i guess i'll have to get a girl knocked up real quick, and get a real job.

Hoping for more success so that it can expand to another night.. not sure how this is the most convenient night for everyone.. do you guys never go out?

Kek...
You know nerds don't go out on Saturday night. They would be wheezing by the time they got to the top of the basement stairs.
