EU+US Addressing a Common Issue before we Populate

@Turtle. Everything I post will be going into the Veteran section, meaning how that is what I spend majority of my time playing. Now when it comes to events such as premade, maybe WPvP, ect. I will put it in the section I'm running the event for.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but I would just post in the section you play the most unless it involves more to one of the other sections.

Everything is fine the way it is now. It's organized. If it was something like the gear scaling list or enchanting list. I'm sure it would become a sticky.

I'm new to developing OP-characters but not WoW, in my understanding of the game play this is what I do, in accordance ..

1). Account #1 : My TRIAL account (free to play) . Allows me to build up a character to level 20 , at level 20 I will be placed in the PvP bracket for 20-29 knowing that my character will not level up beyond level 20 . I can equip the best items from quest/ dungeon/ world drops and then eventually heirloom items and be able to enhance my gear from level 100 profession's. Cannot join guilds or world chat .

2). Account #2 : My Veterans account (expired subscription) . With Pay-to-Play time this allows me to build up a character to any level that my subscription applies to in accordance to game expansion , however should my Play-time expire and I desire to continue playing I can only play characters up to level 20 , I can equip those characters with heirlooms and BiS items and by making careful preparations BEFORE my payed time expires I will have as many applicable pieces enhanced from MAX level professions . Again these level 20 'toons will be placed in the level 20-29 pop bracket . These characters can join guilds and world chat .

3). Account #3) : My Subscription account (payed subscription) . Full-time pay-to-play time allows me to build up a character to any level that my subscription applies to in accordance to game expansion , however should I desire to , I can create characters with heirlooms and BiS items and have them enhanced from MAX level professions then XP-stop them at various brackets (19, 20, 29 etcetera) . You will notice that I put a level 20 there ! The reason being is that as much as I want to play WoW all the time , I will not always be able to afford it , so a level 20 with XP-off will allow me to play on this account when I temporarily can't pay-to-play , yet I will not be able to play characters above level 20 . On the reverse side of the coin if / when my account time runs out I NEED TO STOP PLAYING MY LEVEL 19 !! because even with XP-stop activated and the account in Veterans mode my lvl. 19 xp-off 'toon WILL STILL GAIN XP until level 20 is reached .

Of course there are other intricacies that apply and the reader can research those for themselves .

The current set-up is fine. The tagged approach that was abandoned on TI was best, most logical and least cumbersome. The differences between starter and vet are exaggerated. They are expected to be significantly more similar come Legion. Much ado about nothing.

What's with the tag options at the top of this page: "f2p" "starter" ?
Someone should tell admin that these two terms refer to exactly the same thing. Better yet, let's do away with the "f2p" term altogether. What is generally understood by gamers as true "f2p" does not exist in WoW. That's not an argument. It's fact.

For someone who have never followed the 20-29 bracket at all, but recently got into it, why is there a fight between 20's and 29's? - What's the hatred about? And why do you choose going 20 over 29 and the other way around, other than one having a sub fee?

Basically, why are people mad at eachother? Why would you choose f2p, vet or 29? What's the difference?

It pretty much started in Cata when unlimited trial accounts became a thing. Because of this the 20-24 bracket was created. This bracket populated from the ground up by all these people playing f2ps. Then along came players that would make lvl 24 twinks can enchant their toons, this was looking down apon as the rest of the bracket was limited to what they could do. Pretty much if you played a 24 twink you were regarded as scum. This kept going throught mop, even p2p 20 was frowned upon up until wod patch 6.2 when they introduced veteran accounts. 29 atm is logically the best lvl to go to, you have more abilitys, more access to gear, access to your first glyph slots and all gear scales the same. People still play 20 because they either dont wont to pay the sub fee or are still nostalgic about the past and their lvl 20 toons mean alot to them. I hope this answered both your questions about why people would choose vet, f2p or 29 and the fight between 20 and 29.

Some enjoy not paying, some enjoy the challenge and there's overlap between those groups. There are even players who subscribe then limit their level 20 to starter restrictions.

That said, a complication arises with the fact that the bracket is technically meant for 29's, allowing starters a peek while deciding whether or not to subscribe. Some 29's are there just to steamroll starters and some genuinely want to play competitively against other 29's. The bracket would likely be better for each if the other did not exist except for the fact that queues would be even longer.

Let me put it this way: Would you organize a tournament with 29s, veterans and F2Ps all mixed together completely at random?

Just because Blizzard has one way of assigning brackets doesn't mean you can't come up with better ones.
