EU+US 99 DH still possible?

The point everyone is trying to make is that a 99 of anything else would be better for PvE too. It's not any good.

I guess I should explain what I like doing.

I like to tank dungeons at the lowest reasonable level for each tank and twink them out. Level 20 for the base classes is perfect because that's when all the tanks get their core rotation + taunt. 99 for a Vengeance DH is the least amount of extraneous spells.

For example here's my level 20 Prot Warrior, twinked out for massive pulls / speedrunning goodness—at the lowest reasonable level: IgnoreBrain (ironic name because I don't even have Ignore Pain, lol.)

As soon as I get the Arena trinkets I'll have 3k health!

Here's my 20 Brewmaster: OxPalm, my 20 Guardian: Bearform (0% Haste!) and my 20 Prot Paladin: Protection.

It's fun because on a level 20 Prot Warrior for PvE content, Strength and Armor are low value because of Crusader procs. Haste is useless because of the permanent Into The Fray effect in PvE, which means that getting 0% Haste and as little base Strength is the ideal gearing method.

Constant Victory procs means self-healing is insane, which means Versatility and Stamina are the main priority. This also reduces the value of Armor rating (Crusader procs also boost your armor cuz of Vanguard) so I get to wear Versatility Mail + Leather options freely.

Anyway, it's my relaxing Zen garden after work. I run those same early dungeons at insanely fast speeds, pulling half the dungeon, testing the limits of each spec, and making a lot of levelers really happy.

My next goal is a Blood DK at 58 (because 58 is when you get your taunt and your main “kit”) and finally I was hoping for a 98/99 Vengeance DH to run all the Wrath/Cata/Mop dungeons I couldn't run on my Blood DK and seeing how much I can twink the DH to run dungeons in the most minimalist way—least amount of talents and spells, just the basic rotation + the taunt.

I know I'm probably the only player to actually want to do this, but hey, it's a personal playstyle. I'm so dumb for not making these toons before the 8.1 patch. I even thought about it when I heard they were going to boost exp levels so I have no one else to blame but myself.

Anyway, that's why I'm interested in a 98/99 DH.

Interestingly enough, while its pretty bad in general especially when you see how low dmg or survivability even a general 109 demon hunter has, in the 99 bracket literally no one expects a demon hunter there lol. So if your decently geared so you can do some damage(not as much as other 99's mind you, you are inherently weaker in damage and survivability, you keep your good speed tho!), and the passive demon hunter mobility allow for some great shock value i noticed towards the enemy team. Now, if they can focus or target you your done. But, most levelers or people didn't seem to know what to do or how to respond to my demon hunter so I would just take them down pretty quickly while they were confused about this lone demon hunter that they never seen below 100 sailing towards them. If you do try to 99 pvp with a demon hunter don't try to go vengeance not only is it's survivability horrible at 99 but so is it's damage go havoc from what i've seen as while you still will be near paper when taking damage you can at least return some damage then. Yeah, for PvE its pointless any other class should do more damage then a 99 demon hunter or survive better than a demon hunter, you get shock value with your team but it means nothing against npcs. Your high mobility is nice but other classes can do just or nearly as well while doing more damage, heals, survability.

tldr: if you want shock value, to disrupt the enemy team, and high mobility go demon hunter at 99 for PvP. If you want to a competitive and strong class that can work in PvE, does some damage, heals, survivability, etc go any other class and you will fair much better at this level.

edit- this isn't legion, you cant gung-ho solo same-level stuff anymore. "Twinking" your 99 wont matter. It lacks.

(I think you'll hit trouble trying to speed tank all 2 level 58 TBC dungeons you're allowed as well)

I have a level 57 Blood DK thank god. But lol, thanks for your concern.

And the DH is mostly for tanking the dungeons my 58 DK can’t tank.

edit- people that already did it are telling you it's not what you're expecting. Who's foolish there? You never needed to explain why you wanted to do it, nothing magically changed about what you were told because you explained. Nothing.

There are other ways of getting a 99 DH right now, like buying someone's character; which I might just have to do.
