Really depends on the class, i suppose. I feel like hunters are lousy with options. Warriors and pallies? not too many two handers with secondaries. Casters have a couple staff choices.

Gonna cross my fingers for another cataclysm-esque xpac in the future that completely revisits the old world so my "mains" dont end up feeling obsolete.

edit - misread, not sure what behavior is in end game

When they were updating ilvls on ptr one thing that is notable is that dungeon quests rewards were boosted at the same time as dungeon loot, not with quest rewards that were boosted a few builds earlier. This would indicate to me that somewhere in the backend dungeon quest rewards are categorized as dungeon loot not quest loot and may not be upgradeable.

my thoughts exactly, main reason I twink rn is cause of the lack of hamster wheel. This is far worse though since it's a 1 and done (2 if you drop $$) situation

Previously GFed loot been back to a degree for some time now. not all of it but some items do pop up.
atm all new scaling items go up and down in ilvl retroactively so hopefully you only need to get it right 1 time.

Pretty sure legion dungeon loot never procs epic, but WoD dungeon loot does... what I've been doing for the last month. Both xpacs already had quest gear that could proc epic, and both had a garrison/order hall feature that allowed you to increase your chance for quest rewards to upgrade. Never got dungeon epic in BfA, but small sample size to go on.

Question is which version they went with. I'd guess legion/bfa since it's newer... meaning probably not dungeon stuff.

But who the hell knows what dartboard decisions they make anymore. :Troll:

Pretty sure that's 100% zandalari/kul tiran related. Twinks aren't even like 1% of that swapping pool...

Since he's in a dungeon, id think that reduces the likelihood he will upgrade. Dungeons are probably exempt.​

What use is an upgraded low level quest piece for a leveller? They’ll use it for all of 10mins before they level up and get another piece.
This is simply punishment for those who have taken the time to complete all the quests.
I’m sure there will be some lucky pr!ck who gets a full set of epic gear and will have bragging rights till the cows come home.
I’m just annoyed that on my main Vet I’ve done all the quests possible.
Seriously considering going turncoat for a chance at some shiny pieces. Don’t get worried u skull loving, cave dwelling Hordies if u see ol’ Ice walking the streets of Og sometime soon :p
Oh, and please pass me the salt......
 
just another case of "Hey this mechanic of our game is sup-bar what do we do to make it better? --- Add rng!" the amount of bandaid rng hamster wheel trash this game has is disgusting, too bad it's reaching low levels now as well
 
So people who have invested in BiS GF'd/rare items like myself will literally lose millions of gold because of this?
 
Prices are going to go up on some items if they actually turn out good. I'm excited to see the gold I'll be making off of this. xD
 
My initial thoughts on this, I was frustrated - some twinks since I've had since Vanilla with some GF'd gear...

Only positive I can see for some GF'd toons, is that with Cataclysm, it's an opportunity for you to do some quests again in affected areas if you had already levelled their previously with change of quests / story line.

Also, with the casinoforging of gear, everyone's on the same playing field - if people are going to reroll twink-after-twink to get that epic gear, that's part of the grind I guess in coming the best geared - something I wont do - but would be more than happy to applaud the person that did. It's commitment to the same craft, just in a different way.
