US 60 warlock twinking

Hello everyone, ive decided to make my demo lock a twink at 60 just for fun and to see how good i can make one given its disadvantages.

Couple quick questions i wanna get some opinions on.

Since im demo I was thinking it might be fun/worth it to farm book of the dead from balzanaar in strath to get an additional pet + the stats dont seem too bad? combine this with the mauradon dagger with the chance on hit it may turn out to be a fun build? or do stats still reign over procs 100% every time?

I was also wondering if theres a guild Id be able to (if not join) group up with and do some 60 raids for fun? Im on stormrage on alliance.

and for demo im guessing vers is the best to stat stack for gemmed items and over all stat priority?

Unsure what your goal is, so Ill just make a few points if you are on NA.

PvP: Xp Off 60-69 is dead. You wont find ques.

PvE: 60 only runs on Retail are also dead. Thanks to Classic, you would probably save time making a brand new 60, gearing out, finding a guild and then getting into Raids that way before you found a group of 60s on Retail that would put time aside to run something.

Guilds: Point above. Add on XRealm grouping and all the 60 only guilds on retail dried up long ago.

Gems: Best gems for any Int or Agi user are the pvp marks of honor gems simply due to how over stated they are (5/5 Main Stat/Crit).

Same on my lock xD. Also to comment to the op, you will find that demo lock is far more op than most all classes in 60-85, you will have a blast in open world pvp on it, might I suggest the netomatic to make sure they cannot escape you xD

Id be down to do organized pve if anyone lets me know about it but it doesnt sound like thats going to happen lol.

I really like the play style around level 60 for demo locks so i figured id just xpoff the char and see what i can do!

As far as gem gear goes - theres no vers gems huh? damn. Stack int then?

I can’t think of an example to show you but I am more than happy to help you get geared or forgive out what you need to gear. And there are +6 vers gems if you wanted to use those .But as glorifyd said the +5crit + 5 int from the pvp vendors are just so well off stat wise

May I start off saying good luck with the 60 Warlock. It is indeed a very fun spec and class to play at this level.

I have played 60 lock for a few years now so here are some tips to ensure you don't make the same mistakes I did.

Gems
Gems available at 60 are fairly limited so here's a quick run through.
You can get +6 Gems in Vers, Int, Haste, Crit or Stam. However, none of these gems I would consider to be bis unless you want to try and achieve a specific secondary stat build.

You can get + 3 Int and + 3 Haste/Vers/Crit - however again, these aren't bis either from what I have tested out.

There are some unique gems available - be warned, once these are used they cannot be re-purchased or removed from the gear you placed them in. These gems are the best available at 60 - you can only get one of each.

Weapons can be switched around - I luckily snagged an upgraded https://www.wowhead.com/item=1405/foamspittle-staff this gives a whopping 34 vers.
Note that https://www.wowhead.com/item=43664/manual-of-clouds is also a great cooldown item.

With this gear and enchants you should be sitting around 24% Vers 8% haste and over 590 spellpower. You are extremely tanky due to soul link and your drain life heals a hell of a lot more!

Professions I like to go are engineering and alchemy. The extra 23 Intellect all the time with no cost is better than the inscription shoulder enchant imo.

Exactly it's a lot of fun to just hop on and do some world pvp. Plenty of 2v1 or 3v1 situations you can best as a demo warlock.

Congrats on that book. I've never been so lucky myself, must have run that dungeon 70+ times by now

For those special gems, I'd reccmend putting them in the legs as there's no alternative gear for that slot that you'd want to switch around. The stamina intellect gem I'd say is worthwhile too as a lot of your healing and soul leech is based on % health.

There is also a +6 to all stats gem... I forget the name but that will put 6 int and 6 stam onto your build, you can only have one of these on your toon at one time, unique equipped...

If it didn't increase healing too then I'd say haste would be best.

Warlock relies a lot on its drain life healing which is boosted a lot by versatility (increasing the damage it does, which increases healing plus the bonus healing versatility naturally gives)

Yeah Book of the dead proc rate is absolute garbage...i havent had it proc once through multiple dungeons its a huge disapointment... on the otherhand while agree demo is pretty superior...i just crit for 22k on an affliction lock using death bolt in a one shotish build haha wow...didnt expect that

EDit: Small update - i cant get the affliction burst to do NEAR as much damage in a pve dugneon....so far only target dummy will take anywhere from 6kdmg to 22k depending on how good i do at keeping dots up before hitting darkglare and then deathbolt.

The gems cost Apex Crystals which can be farmed around the area from the monsters near the camp.

The stam enchant on shoulders is a leatherworking kit - so not from inscription.

That staff isn't good - no decent stats and puts your pet's stun on DR when it procs.
Your best weapons will be either an event boss that has a gem slot (very rare) or the purple dagger from mauradon + the book you have or the manual of clouds.

I was wondering if i found a hidden gem with that wep, guess not. Also, i feel like ill have a hard time getting a 60 epic foam staff so ill stick to farming the mara dagger...fml. The gems aren't that hard. I farmed the apex crystals first, logged onto a higher level, cleared the waves and logged back into my warlock and purchased them.

TBH that book of the dead is the best for stats apart from an epic Foamspittle.

The inscription only enchant is great however, the other option is alchemy. With alchemy you get +23 intellect from the pot and 7 stam from the enchant.

If you wanted to completely min/max your toon Inscription is best as you can buy/craft https://www.wowhead.com/item=13511/flask-of-distilled-wisdom the only problem is that they require the herb Black Lotus - a pretty rare herb usually about 500+ gold a pop on the AH.

Really up to you. I was tired of farming/spending gold on Black Lotus' that I went with alchemy and I'm happy with the result.
