59s on Ruin

59s are alive on Ruin! We got together as a battlegroup and designated tonight as a test run, and were able to get a number of games going.



The population is large enough to get scheduled games going, so we're going to make it a regular occurrence to keep the 59 bracket going. The ability to turn XP off means the population can only grow going forward - twinking has never been easier!



From now on, 9PM EST Sundays will be the regular time for 59s. If there is enough interest, 9PM EST Wednesdays has been proposed as a second day for queuing 59s.



Help keep the 59s alive - queue on the Ruin battlegroup @ 9 PM EST Sundays (and wednesdays). DK filler toons are welcome until you have time to get a real toon going.



It's a really easy bracket to get into - you can be very competitive with outland greens/quest items, so roll a new toon or transfer one, and come join the fun!
 
That's great news -- once things get less busy, I'll be looking for a place to transfer my resto shaman if Bloodlust doesn't have anything by then.

I wish Blizz would implement something where we could transfer with out dropping rl cash for it. I want to move, but dropping more money into this game is rough...
 
Are there any servers or guilds, in particular - I'm twinking a 59 Mage but unless I can find some place to queue for games, there's little point in it...

Elune seems to be a popular choice for alliance, but I will not be moving there as it's PVE and I'm really not down with that.
 
I'm still trying to get them to give me the heads up on days/times, but it seems to be something like sunday, wednesday, and friday evenings (like 7pm PST) although we're right on the edge; WE NEED MORE PEOPLE. We get games but if a few people are gone, no pops. I'm afraid we're gonna slide backwards and lose the bracket if more people don't start coming in, however, there's word from a number of folks who are interested in transferring but havn't yet, so there's hope yet!
 
i am debating doing a 59 resto druid twink. but don't want to if the bracket is stale now :/.
 
You're not going to believe this. One hour after completing my transfer to Argent Dawn, I get a BRD run together, and Magmus drops the [ITEM]Totem of Rage[/ITEM]! The other two shamans in the party knew how much I wanted it, and let me have it uncontested. What a great introduction to a new realm!

Don't be worried about losing the bracket. These guys will always have their 2-3 nights a week. What I'm worried about is expanding it. We used to have games going with 75+% twinks all day long in Stormstrike... There's no reason 59s shouldn't be able to play every night in the consolidated BG.



The problem now for alliance is we have to rely on elune to make it pop. In a few weeks Arthas should be just about ready to force games on our own. After that, how active the bracket is depends entirely on the horde side. But I've got a feeling <Watch and Learn> is in the same boat as us and things will pick up in a hurry. -CBB
 
Just finished the Sunday night run on Ruin 59s. I had four WSGs pop (only enough people for one WSG at a time so far), going from about 9pm to 11pm EST (GMT-5). I'll make a more detailed post in another thread, but suffice it to say, I'm glad I transferred. I had a blast, and while I was definitely outclassed, we had some epic battles. Overall, Alliance had a little better coordination, which won them three out of four matches, but only one blowout; we had two epic battles out of the four matches. Really, I saw better team support on both sides in those four games than I saw in most BGs in the last several months.



I'm glad I transferred to Ruin for 59s.

Check out the WoW forums thread that Sparhawk linked up on the previous page...I think Elune has a couple of alliance guilds for 59s in Ruin. From what a couple of people on Argent Dawn said on Sunday, the bracket does need more alliance at this point; transfers continue to come in on both sides.
