59s on Ruin

What ally guild is the most active and needs a Prot Warr?

I'll quote myself from my other Bloodlust thread I just made:

Alliance:

Elune(PvE) has lots

Arthas(PVP) has a few but more on the way

Horde:

Azgalor (pvp?) has a few, also growing

Arthas (PVP) has a pretty strong presence

Argent Dawn (RPPvE I believe) has a few

We'd really love to have you on Arthas, but I'll admit that Elune definitely has the numbers for the foreseeable future.

Let me tell you why I love playing a healer.

The Horde are up 2-1 in WSG with 11 minutes left to play. Telex (carrying the flag), myself, and another horde are in a major battle near the mouth of our own tunnel. It's total chaos with people and explosions everywhere. They focus fire Telex, who does a tremendous job dealing out damage while healing himself, and as he's about to go down, I land a heal at the last second. Telex turns around and crashes his mace down on his main attacker, then runs for the tunnel entrance. My wind shear is on cooldown, and a particularly annoying mage (read: skilled) gets ready to blast him down. Just before the blast lets loose, I hit the mage with my [ITEM]gnomish poultryizer[/ITEM], and Telex gets away to cap the flag and end the match.

To be clear, I'm not a particularly good shaman in the 59 bracket. But that moment when Telex capitalized on a clutch heal was glorious to behold. I don't need a huge crit or massive damage flailing everywhere. Just let me land a heal at the perfect time so that my teammates can come through with that final hit, that I can steal victory right out from under my enemies, and my night is made.

Plus, I love totems.

Teamwork comes naturally to this bracket. You want to put up big numbers? Good for you. Just make sure you hit it when it counts.

I should probably mention that a few minutes before that awesome scene, both sides had the flag, and three alliance stormed into our base to take back their flag, coordinating perfectly to take down our FC. I thought we had them, but they tossed us.

Other notable happenings: Medisinwoman reinforced the importance of having stamina for the 59 bracket by dealing the single largest blow I received since I began the no-XP BGs on Ruin. I read that elemental shamans can strike hard in the 59 bracket, but daggone. A single lightning bolt took down almost half my life when I didn't have that much to give. One moment I was running to cover our FC, then next moment I was waiting for a rez in our GY.

Overall, had three WSGs pop tonight (Wednesday), and I got to play in two of them.

I tell you what. I'm sorry the no-XP patch made it much more difficult for us to get games. But the games I'm getting are better than any I've ever had.

Hmm...definitely sounds like 59's are fun, I've always looked at it and passed due to it being overwhelmed by DK's...but if its not like that anymore, I might have to look into rolling a 59 xD haha

Yeah, so far DK's only really seem to show up when someone brings in a budget twink (DK's qualify as budget could refer to time, or money) or else it's a DK alt of someone who's main twink is on the other faction, to try and help balance queues. I saw 1 DK in 1 game sunday night, and it was a case of the latter.

There's a huge difference between numbers and activity. We set up arenas on off nights and stay online long after elune logs trying to keep games going. And quality > quantity.

For horde, I'd recommend azgalor as they always run deep and seem to have some pro players ready to queue up whenever we ask.

What the hell is going on in that head of yours?

How do you mistake 'I have seen very few DKs' for 'DKS SUCK U SUCK!!!'? It was a statement of fact and an answer to a common question...

ugh, I really should roll on to play, but man I don't want to level/fund myself a 59, and I really don't have 25$ lying around to finish my 48 hunter->59 and then transfer him :p hmm

So it looks like alliance can pretty much get 10 on every night.

LFM Horde.

Really!

I only logon with my Horde shaman on Wednesdays and Sundays, since those are the days that games pop. If you're saying we have enough alliance to go beyond that, I'll make it a point to check in more often.

Last week we had a couple AB's and 1 AV.

Last night we had about 4 10v10 wsgs (unscheduled) and about 20 arenas.

Scheduled WSG is Wed and Sun nights, (possibly changing to Tues, Thurs, and Sun nights). Def not as active as 39s on Nightfall, but we do pretty good :)

I would join if it was EU, was even thinking of making a US account at some point but the time zone's are a big problem that I cant overcome.
