40-49 Shaman (Gear for all Specs)

Playing with WoWHead, this is what I have come up with. Looking over it all, this is my guess as to what would make a solid twink. Now, I know some are not "zomgholy best in slot" because farming epics (Blade of Eternal Darkness) doesn't always seem plausible. However, in all likelihood, this is what I would consider top of the line.

Now, my questions are:

1.) I don't have access to BoA Items - So are these items best in slot that are reasonably farmed?

2.) Would you change anything, if so... What?

3.) Can I get a few linked armories of decently geared Shammies of all specs, shapes, and sizes? :D

Thank you for any and all criticism.

For Horde you can add the Enchanted Azsharite Felbane Dagger. Rune of the Guard Captain is a great trinket for horde enhancement shamans as well.

You use Wowhead neh? Then I have a task for you.

create links for all the items...this is how

1) Type a word "Random Axe"

2) Go to Wowhead and search for it.

3) Copy the url from its page

4) Hit the "Insert Link" button, it looks like an earth with a paper clip.

5) Paste the url.

Shamans are nice in the 49 bracket. They're probably mid-tier in terms of damage/survivability right now (They used to be completely OP in the bracket until now since everyone has much more health). I haven't run into many issues with enhancement shamans on my paladins, resto tends to give me more trouble if I don't have my silence up.

I originally had links, but they were removed when I posted the thread elsewhere. Apologies.

What changed about HP? Leg Armors?

As far as the bracket goes, is there anything I should be aware of? (I am totally new to it)

I am SO close to making a 49 shaman because of this thread....

This isn't really a guide. :p

I am looking for assistance to see if I am missing anything. Depending on how it goes, I may turn it into one. :)

Thanks for the compliment though.

Yes it does add "spellpower" not just spell damage if I remember correctly. Also way to resurrect a ridiculously old thread lol. The gearsets he posted are pre-3.1 so they lack the green ds set for both ele and resto specs. Also he's missing pulsating crystalline shard for a neckpiece.

flametongue totem adds spell power (both damage and healing) flametongue weapons only adds damage. so for resto earth living will be better since it increases healing and has the nice, if random, HoT.

and yes, you managed to necro a very old thread....almost none of the gear the original OP has up there is BiS or even able to use anymore (ex. librams, spell thread)

Actually, I didnt even consider Eye of Orgrimmar till I saw it in this thread, saw spirit on it and thought ugh, didnt notice the awesome 18 sp :D.

Those profiles are up to date, at least.

Too bad we cant use flametongue, with that glyphed Id have ~20% crit on resto spells with the second profile :D

Helm of the Pathfinder looks very sexy, but a little bit of a stat loss. Still, coupled with Eye of orgrimmar its pretty equal (heavy sta on helm, none on right, heavy sp on ring, none on helm).

get soulcatcher halo or soothsayers.

for rings look at mindseye, and cyclopean. dont sacrifice good stats to stack crit, it isnt that impressive.

Hmm I didn't even realize you could get eye of orgrimmar in this bracket, I should really stop using thottbot as it says req level for that questline is 52. I wouldn't take mindseye over the orgrimmar ring personally.

Edit: Wow that's lame, gg blizz, alliance can't do the alliance version of this quest at 49 to get essentially equivalent rings. -_- http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4363

yup alliance get screwed again (same as felbane weps) we cant do the quest to get same gear....thx bliz!!!!

but personally i would take mindseye over oggrimar, oh well get both. mindseye is really rare anyways whereas you can get the one ring just by getting a run through BRD.

You'd prefer 5 stam 1 int to 9 spellpower?

The feeling I've been getting is that casters dont really need more than ~3k hp, is this true? :D

Yeah I'd say that's true, Juke made an interesting point in the general forums, that with the hp getting nerfed things are a little more skill based these days, people still stam stacking are just using it as a means to buffer their lack of skill. IMHO I agree. I'd definitely take the added 9 sp over 5 stam in a heart beat, but that's just how I play.

Need enough to still live through the Charge->JuggernautMS->OP or Hammer-Judge->SoC crits.

I tossed together a profile for jokes with 2300 hp, but a dirty 445 healing spellpower - Or an astounding 629 with a JC trinket and Orc Racial...

i would absolutely trade 9 sp for 50 hp and 15 int. a measly 9 damage wont really impact you that much, but you'd be amazed how often you will see yourself living by as little as 10hp, or getting that extra cast off faster b/c u had that 1 extra int.

more hp is always better, i would never consider having hp = to being unskilled, that is just a blatant lie!

this is world of burstcraft, every little bit of hp helps with juggernaut warriors, ret pallys, 2 shot rogues, fire mages, etc. pre 3.1 3k hp used to be like the bear minimum, and while things have changed i still would be as close to 3k as possible if not over.

you can always mess around with that sick SP set and just go glass cannon (at least every 3mins with elemental mastery + trinkets&racial, PEWPEW), but make sure to have a more hp oriented set in the bags or at least a balanced set.

Lol SoC crits are a fucking joke, come on, seriously why do people still make such a big deal out of it. It's 45% of weapon damage; it's trash if you compare it to something like WF which is 2 extra attacks for nearly weapon damage if not more (seen crit vids at 49 of 1800+ wf crits). My SoC crits are like 500+ max it makes me cry as it used to be 900+ pre-nerfs. SoC is not so game changing as it used to be, my regular judgement crits without a stun even, now do more damage than SoC, with them hitting for 680+ in most cases.

Edit: Apologies for getting so worked up, but I've just been adamant lately over all the pally qq as I've played ret for so damn long and I'm getting sick of hearing people bitch when my class can actually kill someone these days. Seriously all it used to be was "lolret" because it was a joke. I still think it's a joke, it's a decent burst, but if someone gets even one heal or dispell of the stun and it's over.
