4.1 Paladin Guide

Prot paladins spells are capped but not their melee abilities so to make sure your auto attacks/crusader strikes don't miss you'll need the full 11 hit. up to you because AS/hammer of jutice/exo's are all capped when you spec prot. I think judgments are still considered melee abilities but I can't remember when the last time I procced crusader from judgment was.



Stam is pretty good as prot because of how the vengeance mechanic works. Just get all your hit pieces and play around with it, I sometimes use the BOA ripped sandstorm cloak with +1 hit. Sometimes I'll even go with +5 hit to boots even though it's not ideal for mobility (our mobility sucks anyway so I don't usually notice if it sucks a little more). I also love using the following 2 macros for max DPS:



Casts your avengers shield then equips 2 hander for massive Crudader strikes

/cast avengers shield

/equip bloodied arcanite reaper



You'll need to use a second macro when your Avengers shield is off CD

/equip (name of main hand weapon)

/equip (name of shield)



Then hit macro 1 again and your back to big crits with a 2 hander, after macro 2 there is a global cool down so the timing takes some practice.

I can't use Judgment while I have hand of protection buff, so it may be considered a melee ability.

Thanks made some adjustments this should work. You'll primarily want to run around with a 2 hander as a prot DPS paladin. When your Avengers shield is ready hit the macro then hit it again to resume 2 hander melee combat.

Just remembered I have Dread Pirate Ring. Im feeling this is better then demon band, im gonna Chase That Feeling. So Im rocking Dread & Bravo company signet.



Dread vs demon, Dread gives an additional point of stam as well as 5 crit rating, Demon gives 4 strength.





As for glove chant, what are most dps prot using? Atm I'm using 7strength, I think 15agil could be nice though.



Anyone have an armory link to a BiS prot dps.

probably something like this (see above), could use the +1hit cape for cap. +7str to gloves is the best because it affects spellpower but could also make an argument for spellpower. Some of my guildmates use a crazy hybrid healing/dps spec for prot which seems to be effective due to the large mana pool
 
Yeah that's pretty much my setup. Only 2 differences are ring and weapon. As I said Im using Dread Pirate which gives 2hit 5crit 3stam in place of your 4stam 5strength argas band. And as for mainhand I use ven mass of mcGow or Bloodsoaked Skullforge, both with sader. Thanks for the help.
 
I am making a holy shockadin ;P but you didnt include Bracers and shield for alliance if any1 knows some plz tell me ;)
 
Patch 4.3 will bring some small changes that are relevant to both holy and retributino paladins. Check back for updates. As I intend to keep this guide updated is it possible to change the title?

Relevant Paladin Changes for 4.3 include:



Holy

---In addition to providing haste, the effect from Judgements of the Pure now increases mana regeneration from Spirit by 10/20/30% for 60 seconds.



Retribution

---Two-Handed Weapon Specialization (passive) now increases damage by 25%, up from 20%.
 
Is the Venerable Mass of McGowan still best for Prot even though agility doesn't give Dodge to paladins anymore?
 
hi guys. thanks for the guide. question though. you mentioned a +70 health mining glove. i've looked everywhere for this. can you tell me how/where this is? thanks.
