With 4.0.1 paladins have become a very good addition to any WSG team. The paladin can take on the role of healer, FC, and DPS.

1. Races
There are five options for paladins when choosing what race to play. For the horde you have two options you must play a Blood Elf or a Tauren. Alliance have three options all races will be compared below.
Blood Elf
The Blood Elf has Arcane Torrent this is a very useful ability to use when fighting casters. This ability can be the difference between killing an FC or not, living or not, and it can just be an all around very good racial.

Tauren
The tauren has the main racial of War Stomp. This racial can be used in many situations and can be game changing, and can be great for a situation such as getting a flag re-pick or stopping opponents in their tracks. All around a very solid class!

Human
Every Man For Himself is the active racial for humans. This is a very useful spell as it shares a cool-down with the PvP trinket. This frees up an empty space which allows the human to use two [item]Arena Grand Master[/item]'s.

Draenei
The Draenei has two useful racials the first being Gift of the Naaru this spell can be used on any friendly target. It is great for survivability. The second racial is Herioc Presence this helps out everyone around you and will require you to need less hit rating to soft-cap.

Dwarf
This is the least used race for paladins in the 19 bracket. The racial for dwarves is Stoneform which removes all poison, disease and bleed effects and increases your armor by 10% for 8 sec. This can be useful when trying to get a bandage off with a DoT on you but can be very situational. The 10% armor in okay it helps a bit with survivability.

When choosing race it comes down to personal preference and no one can really say what is best.
2. Specs/roles
The paladin can fill the damage, healing, and flag carrying role. Each role the paladin can excel at.
Damage - The paladin got buffed a lot in patch 4.0.1, thus allowing us to be even more effective at dealing damage. Both Protection and Retribution paladins can deal a lot of damage and take down most enemies because of high damage migration due to mail armor.
Healer - In patch 4.0.1 the paladin went from one of the worst/most situational healers to the best healer in the 19 bracket. A paladin can heal multiple targets while keeping themselves up due to instant cast heals and high armor.
Flag Carrier - Many people believe that the paladin is currently the best FC in the 19 bracket. Wether or not this is true is up to you but the holy paladin simply will not die unless stunned at the correct time with many enemies attacking.
3. Professions
The best professions can be argued however 225 herbalism is generally seen as a must, it provides a reasonable instant heal and 55+ haste bonus for 20 seconds on a 2 minute cool down. Engineering now would be the second profession because arena is an no longer option. The bombs can be game changing and can help on the needed flag return or kill. Skinning and Mining the two other options can be chosen for there benefits as seen fit. A damage paladin may want crit while the FC may want the stam from the mining.

Protection Paladin Talents
These talents provide the protection paladin with damage, utility, and survivability.
Holy Paladin Talents
These talents provide the holy paladin with crazy healing, haste, and more survivability.
Retribution Paladin Talents
These talent choices could be debated but these increase damage done. It lets you be farther away when casting judgement, provides survivability, and increases movement speed!

Quick Tip: When you have an Ally in range of you and you need to heal yourself, cast Holy Shock on THEM, get the Protector of the Innocent proc (heals for more than Holy Shock atm), then WoGx1 them aswell. 500 burst heals (250x2) is still pretty decent, and if you have the armor to support yourself, is all good. -Llare.

Protection Paladin Gear Note
A lot of gear had hit added in 4.0.3a note you only need 11 hit rating to soft cap which is all that is necessary in most cases. At this time I'm not exactly sure if a single BiS list with all the gear that has been changed and added so pick and choose from the BiS lists to get yourself 11 hit rating.

With 4.0.1 paladins have become a very good addition to any WSG team. The paladin can take on the role of healer, FC, and DPS.

1. Races
There are five options for paladins when choosing what race to play. For the horde you have two options you must play a Blood Elf or a Tauren. Alliance have three options all races will be compared below.
Blood Elf
The Blood Elf has Arcane Torrent this is a very useful ability to use when fighting casters. This ability can be the difference between killing an FC or not, living or not, and it can just be an all around very good racial.

Tauren
The tauren has the main racial of War Stomp. This racial can be used in many situations and can be game changing, and can be great for a situation such as getting a flag re-pick or stopping opponents in their tracks. All around a very solid class!

Human
Every Man For Himself is the active racial for humans. This is a very useful spell as it shares a cool-down with the PvP trinket. This frees up an empty space which allows the human to use two [item]Arena Grand Master[/item]'s.

Draenei
The Draenei has two useful racials the first being Gift of the Naaru this spell can be used on any friendly target. It is great for survivability. The second racial is Herioc Presence this helps out everyone around you and will require you to need less hit rating to soft-cap.

Dwarf
This is the least used race for paladins in the 19 bracket. The racial for dwarves is Stoneform which removes all poison, disease and bleed effects and increases your armor by 10% for 8 sec. This can be useful when trying to get a bandage off with a DoT on you but can be very situational. The 10% armor in okay it helps a bit with survivability.

When choosing race it comes down to personal preference and no one can really say what is best.
2. Specs/roles
The paladin can fill the damage, healing, and flag carrying role. Each role the paladin can excel at.
Damage - The paladin got buffed a lot in patch 4.0.1, thus allowing us to be even more effective at dealing damage. Both Protection and Retribution paladins can deal a lot of damage and take down most enemies because of high damage migration due to mail armor.
Healer - In patch 4.0.1 the paladin went from one of the worst/most situational healers to the best healer in the 19 bracket. A paladin can heal multiple targets while keeping themselves up due to instant cast heals and high armor.
Flag Carrier - Many people believe that the paladin is currently the best FC in the 19 bracket. Wether or not this is true is up to you but the holy paladin simply will not die unless stunned at the correct time with many enemies attacking.
3. Professions
The best professions can be argued however 225 herbalism is generally seen as a must, it provides a reasonable instant heal and 55+ haste bonus for 20 seconds on a 2 minute cool down. Engineering now would be the second profession because arena is an no longer option. The bombs can be game changing and can help on the needed flag return or kill. Skinning and Mining the two other options can be chosen for there benefits as seen fit. A damage paladin may want crit while the FC may want the stam from the mining.
4. Talents
Protection Paladin Talents
These talents provide the protection paladin with damage, utility, and survivability.
Holy Paladin Talents
These talents provide the holy paladin with crazy healing, haste, and more survivability.
Retribution Paladin Talents
These talent choices could be debated but these increase damage done. It lets you be farther away when casting judgement, provides survivability, and increases movement speed!

Quick Tip: When you have an Ally in range of you and you need to heal yourself, cast Holy Shock on THEM, get the Protector of the Innocent proc (heals for more than Holy Shock atm), then WoGx1 them aswell. 500 burst heals (250x2) is still pretty decent, and if you have the armor to support yourself, is all good. -Llare.

Protection Paladin Gear Note
A lot of gear had hit added in 4.0.3a note you only need 11 hit rating to soft cap which is all that is necessary in most cases. Back strafing is an essential thing to do to get the most out of dodge, parry, and block.
Flag Carrying Advice
- When flag carrying stand with your back to the wall when at all possible if a rogue gets off an ambush you can be in some big trouble.
- Stay with your team, often times FC's will outrun their own team and healers and when alone you are vulnerable and easier to pick off.
- ASK for defense, if you are alone you will probably die ask for one or two people to stay with you.
- Communicate with the offense to find out when you are needed to move closer to the cap.
- Make use of bombs (if you're an engineer) and your stun, don't use your stun whenever make sure to use it when trying to gain distance.
- Learn the jumps in the videos linked above, these will help you gain great distance from the opponents.
- CHANGE IT UP! Don't always take the same route a good team will quickly catch on and set-up traps.
- Don't stand in places such as the middle of the flag room or out in the open, the only time you want to be in the flag room is if you're expecting a flag return. Some good places to stay are the roof, top of tunnel, graveyard, and 2nd floor because each of these places give you multiple escape routes.
- Stay one step ahead of the enemy, don't let them predict where you will go.
- Juke! This is when you run to an edge and do a fake jump to make opponents think you are going over the ledge.
- Make macros to easily communicate with your team, here are some examples:
