I mentioned this offhand in the 39 thread on the wow forums, figured I might as well make a thread here just to quickly address.

Basically, I plan to quit a managing role in the 39 bracket by around the end of December. I knew from the start this wasn't a permanent gig, but an increase in RL happenings and a waning interest in 39s means I'm planning to finish a little earlier than I originally assumed.

First off: Regarding the funding project. That still continues. As long as 39s get games, there will be a funding project and the continuation of that guild. Regardless of my role in 39s I will be continuing to manage the guild on BH Alliance. If 39s stops getting games for whatever reason, the remaining gold (about 90k atm) will be returned to the donators and the gear will be shelved until the next 39s revival sometime in Legion.

I love the bracket and the overwhelming majority of the community, but my original reason for joining this bracket was to play with the guys in jcm. The likelihood of premades and competitive events happening at 39 has become extremely slim, leading to a good 15 or so of my guildies being MIA. That was my major interest as well. I'm happy to continue overseeing and organizing pug game nights, but it's not what I really was joining the bracket for.

Anyway, I'm mentioning this early and up front so that there's no sudden disappearance or fallout and so individuals can consider taking over if they feel they have the time and effort. I'll continue to help organize and manage our current game nights until the end of this year or until someone takes over.

Otherwise standard operations as normal.

I wonder how people might feel if there were to be an end date pre-decided by the community. On one hand, it could motivate people who currently think it will last forever; "Oh man, there's only X weeks left in the revival. I better enjoy them while I can". On the other hand, it could dissuade newcomers as time dwindles - though I don't much buy into that because I favor transparency above all else.

Regarding the premade scene - AFAIK there is a Horde team available to be challenged by JCM. Did JCM lose interest in that one pugmade night? I find that difficult to believe.

I think the horde team is pretty much up and functional. Phauren said he would field something for Saturday so we are waiting for that. JCM I haven't heard much from but I would assume they are building / sorting a strong roster. Atleast I would hope that is the case

There wasn't much of a push towards premading really. Jcm could have fought sr, brb liquor store, im cute? maybe phauren. Seems like they turned out for that pugmade match and then disappeared into the ether.

2 reasons you need to calm your tits.

1. We have had 2 months of activity. The date Boostz is stepping down is still another 2-3 months. We are not even at the halfway mark if a closing date is set.

2. It was just a suggestion.

It reads as rather negative given that the announcement is directly following a failed night of queues and is delivered with something of a sigh. Obviously, we aren't children so transparency as you said ought to be valued. The timing just seems lousy to me as last night was rather discouraging. I'm happy to hear that Dime and Living have decided to set a date for premades. Hopefully, this will have an inspiring effect.
 
we got some games in last night in wsg/tp and afterwards people were encouraged to que 2s/3s. I know we had about 12 3s games before it got too late and some had to go.
 
Yeah, I couldn't find a third for the 3s games so I wasn't able to play. I had one pretty good TP in addition to the AB. The WSG was pretty poor because 2-3 alliance players petulantly /afk'd.
 
Like 4 JCM people have actually been in contact for the last month or so. The Skype group/guild activity is barren. Most of JCM joined exclusively for premades(and only with the same 19s team members), but since they didn't really happen in any capacity/no solid twink cup on the horizon, it's understandable they lost interest. The game itself isn't really fun anymore, it's the competitive aspect that keeps a lot of people subscribed.

That being said, I see so much whining/pining for premades but hardly any effort being put in to make them. Try to make a team! There's more than enough randoms with experience who just solo queue.

Just trying to say, this bracket is fueled by you guys. Nothing is going to happen if you don't make it -- just showing interest isn't enough.

Well, it was several things.

The first being that multiple people from JCM didn't have huge interest in 39 to begin with, they came here because the rest of us did. Those people were the first to stop playing the bracket and moved on to other things.

There's also the fact that we're at a tough part of the year and lots of us are more busy with things IRL, and with only 2 nights/week of pug games it's very hard to keep motivated to play, especially since the majority of us are more competitive-driven players. I'm not saying 39s should have more nights because I don't think it will work, just that the limited gameplay is something that turned a few jcm people away.

We also did tons of premades in the months leading up to the 19 TC and I'm sure I don't speak for myself when I say that I'm a little burnt out on premades for now. I was doing my best to try get some stuff started here early on but when it came down to it, there appeared to be so little competitive interest in premading outside of a handful of players, some of whom are strongly disliked by most players in our guild. It's not really in anyones interest to play against people that we don't like.

Tl;dr, it was various things that pretty much led to a domino effect of almost everyone in JCM quitting, and that's all I can really say.
 
Two nights a week allows them to do other things in game or IRL. Shouldn't that be the draw of 39s? On the competition front, LF has a premade group ready to play if JCM were to sack up after the last outing.
