39 xp-off ban on prot dps due to 5.2 buff

hey for the health and fun of the bracket protection warrior dps has to be abolished until blizzard scales shield slam back to something reasonable. i understand if you recently made a protection based dps warrior and wish you could play it but unless you want to only be a Flag carrier there is no way the bracket is going to allow you to do play as prot dps now. its causing way to much burst and 1 shot kills.

check Twinking - World of Warcraft Twinking Info for the post i also posted there.

Good call. Felt like a lot of people were upset/demoralized with prot dps running around one-shotting people with 4k+ shield slams.

After following Suns excellent prot warrior guide on Twinking.net me and 4 of my buds rolled prot warriors to help getting consistent pops. Thank you for encouragin us to roll this wonderful class and spec, I can see why you made a guide about them, they are indeed powerful. We are currently fixing our last enchants and are ready waiting for the next scheduled games :). See yah in ze gulch!
Not sure if serious or ...

You know u cant ban this people will still play it and it will continue to provide problems in the bracket, and im curious if this came up with the 3+ prot warriors we saw from alli wed??

Community-driven bans have historically succeeded in the 39s bracket. Otherwise, there is the report away feature.

You should make a poll first.

I actually agree with the ban tho.
Another option is just to ban shield slam.

Just banning shield slam wouldn't work. Knowing most people they will still use it if you tried that, but I do agree with the ban of prot dps warriors.

not exactly, myself and others were talking about this last week, keep in mind that blizzard did an additional increase to shield slam, at that point we realized that according blizzard everything is working as intended. the warriors that got in and made some people upset, are not geared the same as Hulk, buck, and myself. so if the new guys can get high end crits over 5k, im sure the seasoned warrior vets can get over 6k crits since we know the maximizing formula which is not posted to the public. this is just too much, a long time ago there was a issue like this with hunters that had to be resolved. so this isn't anything new.

To clarify the hunter issue was in 29s but a similar approach was proposed in this situation

I would like to share a couple of observations regarding the prot warrior ban after games last night:

1) I think people need to be more patient in regards to this ban working. In the first game I played last night, we had 2 prot warriors because 1 joined right before the game started and apparently didn't have time to change spec. Right away I could see comments on b.net such as "So much for the prot warrior ban!" or people saying that they were not queueing anymore. People need to have patience while the details of this ban work themselves out, and for everyone to even learn about the ban.

2) This ban seems to have been met with some hindrance. In that game there was at least 1 person on Alliance side who was telling the non-fc prot warrior in bg chat to play however he wants to and to ignore the ban. This conflicting information is confusing for some, I'm sure.

do you know the name of the alliance person who was saying to ignore the ban?

There was another game altogether where Ooch Fcd and there was a prot warrior at the beginning of the game. It was politely explained to him by a few of us about the ban. He refused to respec and we kicked him as a group. We were succesful there

Agreed. I myself am not enjoying being this OP and I've rerolled arms until prot gets rebalanced. Rolled Idolator in 5.1, respecced him to Arms in 5.2

Really hopes Blizzard fixes it. I enjoy prot DPS but critting 7K on FCs who have 6.5K health is just... no. Not cool, even if I'm the one doing the crit (Sure, I was amazed at the damage, but it was just not fun for me or the other person who I crit.)

Forgot there was games last night. :|
