Introduction​

Hello all!

I would like to announce the official sign-up for a [MENTION=18826]Bop[/MENTION] / [MENTION=12571]Swag[/MENTION] hosted 2v2 tournament.

WHAT: This tournament will feature 10 teams in a Best-of-3 Round Robin style pairing to take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of next weekend (February 6th, 7th, and 8th).

These preliminary rounds will require each team to play on each day. Do not sign up unless you can be present for games at some time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The penalty for missing games is posted below at the bottom of this Introduction.

Upon completion of these preliminary rounds, the teams with the 4 highest scores (See Rules Below) will compete in a single elimination Best-of-5 Semi-finals to be held on the following Saturday, February 14th. Later that same evening, the Finals will be Best-of-7 between the last 2 remaining teams.

Every game will be featured on Swagcleavic's Twitch Stream, and will be shoutcasted by [MENTION=11761]Hunnybuns19[/MENTION], [MENTION=1191]Kunz[/MENTION], and others.


WHEN: The Preliminary games and the Semi-Finals/Finals will take place from 6 PM EST to 11 PM EST each night posted above (5 hours per night, 3 nights of Preliminary games, 1 night of Semis/Finals).

6 PM - 11 PM EST translates to
12 AM - 5 AM for Europe (depending on region) and
9 AM - 2 PM AU EST.

If your team is only able to play during a certain time-range of these scheduled times, your matches will be arranged to fit your schedule.

Each team will play 3 games per night. Each of those games consists of a Best-of-Three match up against another team.

Teams will be expected to play all 3 of their games, but they may do so at any time during the scheduled time.

This should average out to roughly 1 hour of play a night. And from Friday-Sunday, each team will have played 9 games total.


SCORING: Each team in the Preliminary games will be given a score based on their results in each Best-Of-3 Match.
For example, if Team A beats Team B by a measure of 2 Wins to 1 Win, Team A would be awarded 2 points and Team B would be awarded 1 point.
There is no benefit to winning a matchup other than being guaranteed that you acquired more points than the team you just defeated.

Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. You will not be declined entry based off of experience; if you sign up, you are guaranteed your spot.

There is a limit of 10 teams total, and this tournament will not begin until 10 teams are signed up.

The deadline for sign-ups are this Wednesday by 11:59 PM EST (AU: 2:59 PM, EU: Thursday, 5:59 AM).


If both players in your team are not present at the scheduled time of your games, the other team will receive 2 points and your match against that team will be forfeit.

Edit for Clarification: These games are best of 3. If Team A wins 2 games in a row, they have won that best of 3 and Team B will not have an opportunity for a Victory Point by winning a third game.


BANS​
1. No 2 Healer Specialization teams.

2. No 2 of the Same Class with offheals (Druids, Paladins, Priests, Shamans, Monks).
(I.E., Druid/Paladin = OKAY. Druid/Druid = NOT OKAY, and Rogue/Rogue = OKAY)

3. Feral and Balance Druids may not use Ferocious Bite.

SKYPE / TEAM NAMES​

This is to help the organizers and administrators communicate with you, and is not required for communication with your partner. You may choose any means of communication you like (or any lack-there-of). We strongly recommend the use of Mumble.

One last order of business before I post the standard sign-up form and I open this thread to sign-ups is that Team Names are mandatory.

Team Names must be between 5-25 characters and should probably not have anything against the CoC of TI, but I don't feel a strong need to censor your team names.

Be creative, and understand how important it is from an organizer's standpoint to be able to refer to your team by something other than your/your partner's names. Tournament Organizers maintain the right to refuse any team name, at which time you will be required to choose another one.

We will be implementing much stricter procedures to ensure that the games will fit the schedule as planned. So there should be minimal confusion, if any, in the upcoming tournament.

Also, if anyone is interested and available on tourney days to be dedicated anchors, contact me. Need to be level 20, and on on AP. Carebearisjesus (skype)

I'm going to need a team name from you guys. Can be as generic as you want. Just need something to refer to you by other than your toon's names. See the rules about Team Names above.

I have your skype information, so you're good to go there.

Also you will need to let me know what times on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you can play. It's from 6 PM EST to 11 PM EST.

I think that is roughly 9 AM to 2 PM in AU EST.

If that's the worst rule-break regarding team names, I think we'll be fine.
