29s Sundays @ 9EDT | Add Donteventrii#1373

This Sunday marks our fourth fight night, but first since the release of 5.2. A couple of things have changed. Rumsey Rum Black Label no longer has a stamina effect. Inherited Mark of Tyranny is likely the new BIS replacement for AGM. RIP Rumsey and AGM, you served us long and well. Unfortunately resistances are still functional, and BOA shields didn't make it into the patch. Warrior's Shield Slam is hitting for obscene amounts of damage; it has yet to be hotfixed; it was subject of much ire for 39s on Wednesday; let's see how it plays out for them tonight.

Last year's Loli Invitational was a huge success. You can see the match here 29 Premade 4.3 By donteventrii - World of Warcraft Movies We are trying to gauge interest in for another match in early April. If you would like to participate, please leave your Battletag here.

The BIS thread is in need of MoP updating. If you have extensive knowledge of your class/spec and the gearing options, please consider making a Chardev for us. I'll put a few for each spec in the second post of this thread.

If you are new, please say hi. Several vets make their free time available for runs, and would be happy to answer any questions about the bracket. Please do not join our games ungeared/enchanted and expect a warm welcome. Please DO join us in Vent immediately (info is posted at the beginning of each game). Farming mid and solo-play is not acceptable in this bracket. Almost everyone here is familiar with each other and their abilities. Nobody is perfect, but we expect team-play and for everyone to pull their weight.

My Battletag is Donteventrii#1373. Add me for 29s updates. (Anyone else that would like their Battletag here just let me know.)

Hey guys popping in,

I spoke to ooch and he said games popped yesterday or something like that. Im just here to say good on the 29's for making a effort to que and get games going.

I myself will be making a return when i get back from my holidays!!! (Witch is about 13 days)

Keep up the good work guys! :D

Would love if the activity picked up. Here's to more!

You locked the good drama thread what am i going to read on my lunch break?

Rebel against livingforce's regime!

Damn I missed the bandwagon on that thread. IMO you guys are just upset that there are so few people interested in 29s. Skanky, Ohai, where ya been? Yoube gave up because his Shaman leveled. Plenty of the few active players don't want to feel depended on to show up every night, so just gave up on the bracket altogether.

Mocha: Too little, way too late. Where were you a month ago when things started to slip? Everyone in 29s already knows everything you posted.

On the Living/Tapout debacle. Exp-off twinks who show up when they can. When games aren't happening, they are a bit overzealous in their "planning" to increase activity. This makes them prone to criticism when they don't show up. Additionally they are known for not playing both factions- a core necessity for anyone who claims to be "for the community".

Giving my life up working for the man.

I just don't enjoy WoW anymore, they've fucked up balance and skills at low levels too many times, and the game itself just doesn't have that addictive quality that kept me coming back from 2004-2012. I can't put my finger on what it is, but I don't want to play at cap anymore (PVE or PVP) or at 29s. A lot of the friends I enjoyed playing with in 29s arent interested or arent playing (too many names to mention). I just don't want to spend my free time waiting an hour each night for a 25 minute game.

I've been hitting up DOTA 2 pretty hard each weekend / weeknight. 2 minute queue for a 30-45min game that is completely dependent on team skill and player skill. Everyone starts at level one, everyone can pick every hero, if you build a shit comp it is your own fault. Items are gained as you level and NOTHING carries over between games except cosmetic items.

It's also not 15 dollars a month. I don't actually give a shit about 15 dollars a month anymore but ironically i dont feel like i actually want to spend it. I'd rather go to Buffalo Wild Wings once a month, that is equivalent enjoyment for me.

I think the only thing that would get me back is a significant amount of the community agreeing to come back (DetoX, all the many horde players like Franchi/that whole dragonmaw crew). Sadly Ryan and co. seems to make far too much butthurt when they play to be something that would realistically help the bracket, but I always enjoyed the drama and shit.

edit - After further thought about my run in 29s I'd like to slap that one amywineheals dipshit who if i recall made some kind of offhanded comment about me not getting a job out of college (which I'd be lying if i said at the time I wasn't worried about), 2 EZ BRO JOB STRAIGHT OUTTA SCHOOL LOL WRECKT

additional edit - we better be opening our FFL again, I need to be a back to back champion

Ohai, no bracket survives without people willing to stick it out through thick and thin.

And that's the problem 29s have most lately. People aren't willing to put in the time and energy to make it something special, and that's why there's no activity. It's a complete joke to sit here talking about the things that would bring you back, when those things are long gone, forever probably.

I think you're projecting your own feelings on this one. I could care less that there are no games. I'm not the one who came back after being gone for months and started acting like a bracket manager.

Agreed.

Sam, to be honest I took a new job. I'm working 55 hours plus a week, and my off time is spent with my family. My wife and I are expecting our son at the end of June as well. Between spending time with my daughter, catering to my wife's needs and work, there is barely any time left for me. As of right now my available days are Monday and Thursday. 39s and 29s both dont play on these nights unfortunately. I wish they did, but I have priorities.

Although now that I give it more thought I rescind my statement of agreement.

I have a hard time not responding to this and saying: I have put a ton of time into this bracket, and I have been through plenty of thick and thin. Additionally, I was answering Sam's question, thus I was explaining why I have significantly more time committed to other things, and added in something that would make me want to spend all my available free hours on a weeknight to get games going.

Agreed on the "gone probably forever" part, but if me posting that I would be willing to play again if there was a coordinated effort to get actual veterans to play again en masse, does not seem to me, to be a joke. Highly unlikely, but still worth the post.

You care. Why else would you waste your time on these forums?

Do you think it's a coincidence that I come back on a Saturday, a 29s thread is immediately started, and over 30 people have signed on to games starting a week later?

It's hardly a waste of time to comment on something I do care about (29 twinks). However, whether or not we actually have enough people interested in 29s to get games, is an entirely different matter. I don't care one bit about games at this point in time. Otherwise I'd be on the forums every day bumping a recruitment thread.

Also, you weren't the one responsible for getting 30 people to sign up for games back in February. That was (as usual) Nirise. All you've ever managed to do is start drama and then pretend like you're doing people a favor by bugging them to come play games you don't even show up to. Keep it up Bracket Master Nastaygurl!
