225 engineering on 19 possible now?

First of all, my armory link:

Now, as you all can see, I have 225 engineering, so I have access to some overpowered bombs, trinkets etc. for that level...



I thought this is impossible/against the rules to get this. But one day I was sick of waiting to get reported and get a 3day ban. So I decided to report myself and see what happens... and guess what, according to EU wow GM, it's not against game mechanichs and it's working as intended.



My ticket was: "Hello, I want to report my too high engineering skill. I know it's impossible to get it to 225 skill on level 19, so I'm reporting this to get it fixed because I know it's against the game mechanics. Feel free to delevel it, or remove my profession completely."



I cba to wait 20+ hours for their respond, so I logged off, and guess what came in mail:

According to GM, This is working correctly, with no associated bugs :)



If anyone finds this interesting, feel free to post it on main page. I didn't go public be4 because I didn't want to risk my 3day ban or loosing it :) but since it's not against the rules I guess it's good to let everyone know it's possible.



How/when I obtained it? I'll keep that for myself for now. :D
 
Profession A: 450

Profession B: 150

Ask a GM to scale it to 225.

GM scales both down/up.

Profit?
 
Something like that, but I never had 450 profession as I made this twink few days ago (after 3.1).



But you're close on that one, it required GM assistance :)
 
he probably accidentally lvled to 20 from the GY bug, went and got 225 engineering, and then talking to a GM about the accidental lvl

GM's can't delevel you.

They've never been able to delevel your character. Only your professions.
 
so they said it is basically legal,





can you give details on how you achived that?

(i am just curious (as i am stuck/sticking with 450 old profs)
 
I'm just a newbie in this whole twinking thing.

For now I'm quiet about it.

Feel free to check the post from time to time, and hope for the miracle.
 
Auctionbid told me how he did it, and as of right now we're discussing whether or not we should post it or not on the Staff Forums. So just stop pestering him about it and you'll see it up on the Front Page soon (or not at all).

It's not up to us. If anything, releasing this will only make sure they "nerf" it faster. We have to consider the reputation of this site and the extent of which this exploit can spread. We don't want to be seen as ExploitInfo.
