I've updated the thread to give a rough outline of the schedule. 6pm EDT - 1AM EDT all three days, roughly one hour per match with 10 min between each match.
I've also added the following rule:
- Players cannot use toys, guild banners, or any usable item that isn't equipped on their character except healthstones, soulstones, and the pvp battle standard
Forgive me if this information is already out there, but could you elaborate on what happens in the case of a team having 1 or more players late for their match? As someone who has run relatively large-scale tournaments of my own, I'd like to know what kind of precautions are in place to keep the cup running smoothly and on schedule. As pretty much everyone knows, it seems to be the curse of 19s that things are rarely on time, and it's bad for both viewers and players when scheduling is a mess and things are running very late.
All I've really seen written about this is "teams must be ready 30 minutes early", but nothing about the reprocussions if this rule is not followed. At the bottom of the signup thread it says something along the lines of "breaking any rule = dq from twink cup" but I imagine someone simply being late for a game is not grounds for a complete disqualification. The window for potential games as you've now mentioned is ~8 hours, but with players based all around the world I think it's highly likely that at least a few people will have small RL issues arise during the tournament.
So anyway, I guess these are my main questions:
1. In the case of a player being late, will there be a small time limit prior to the series beginning to allow them to show up, or will their team immediately face a penalty if they are not 100% prepared when it is time for them to play? Along with this, will teams be notified in advance that they are playing soon (for example, "your team is after this series") to assist with keeping teams on track?
2. Will a person being absent result in the loss of one game, or the entire series?
I personally don't think DQing a team from an entire series is fair here, one game DQ + allowing the player added time (basically the time of the warsong that is skipped) to show up seems the most fair, however this also results in lots of downtime on the stream which is not a good thing either.
3. Will there be a time limit on how long teams can delay between matches in a specific series due to various reasons such as players going afk, comp changes, strategy talk, etc., and what happens in the case of a team delaying for too long?
4. What will happen in a rare case that neither team is ready to play when it is their turn?
Thanks in advance.
