EU+US (2013 Returning Player) Need help with Disc Priest

Hello everyone.
I used to play back in 2013 as a pure f2p (still am).
Came back after getting hassled to jump back in by a first time wow player.

But I'm lost... Whats changed for priests? Are we still good?

How does gearing up work as of now?
I read its all about ilvl, then I read recently thats no longer the case. So I'm a little confused.

Also, i cant seem to get F2PADDON working, its running but when i try to chat, i cant sent my message. Wow doesnt let me press "enter" to send the message.
Last I remember you type /join f2ptwink, you open up a new channel and chat there. Doesnt seem to work for me now.

Also, why does wow armory show a lower achievement score than whats shown ingame? I missing over 1000 achievement points onnthe armory site...

I'm sure many more questions will follow as i get back into the groove of things.

Btw, I have different gear set ups, i believe last i logged i was wearing PvE gear. I'll try to put on my PvP set.
I also have a FC set...

Looking over your character, I have one major suggestion:

DO NOT get rid of any of your gear that is item level 25. That stuff is Grandfathered, and mostly BiS.
I would also advise you to go to Stonetalon Mountains, and finish the entire Zone Quest Chain there, you will get the option to buy some really nice Shoulderpads once you finish: https://www.wowhead.com/item=57501/kromgar-champions-linen-shoulderpads

Other than that though: your necklace and gloves need an improvement, which can be acquired in any dungeon that drops those particular pieces (Check the dungeon loot tables in-game with Shift+J). Blue BoP drops now scale to your level, as well as the Dungeon Satchel rewards, they scale too, which will help you replace your necklace and gloves.

The bracers and ring can be replaced with BG Crate rewards, but that will take a while longer considering RNG on whether it comes out green or blue.

No. Stats matter again.

That said, as Al pointed out, all your ilvl 25 gear is bis. Lucky you! Thats a pretty awesome gear set to have.

And f2p addon no longer works. We largely communicate via bnet chat functions and this forum.
 
You picked a really good time to come back as disc. ;)

Bad? Not at all. But now they are very, very good.

I'd say Disc, Boomkin, and Fury War are the top 3 in the bracket.

Anything specific? Perhaps I can try to build on it.

Also, is haste still important?
What stats should i be looking for in the new gear I'll be farming?

Yea i noticed that. But lower damage absorption.
I used to have over 1k bubbles years ago. But i guess spaming it will be interesting.

Really need to change my playstyle, still doing old things... I gotta say, I really really really miss https://www.wowhead.com/spell=205367/dominant-mind used to have soooooo much fun with that when it was still player controlled effect.

Never in my life have a I played a priest seriously nor would I even consider myself much of a healer but, for what my opinion is worth...

You aren’t going to be able to stack your haste high enough to get your cast time below 1.3 seconds on flash heal/smite. To get there, you need roughly 50 haste. Once you’ve got that, versatility and int are gonna be your priorities.
