19 Hunter Ranged Bis Analysis

So the topic came up and we did the math on the BIS for 19 hunters ranged weapon, and here are the results.

The only thing i'm not 100% sure of is where to put the venomstrike proc rate, 10% seemed fair.

The scores are the averaged out DPS of the weapon for AA's. Instant abilities will just be what the weapon says for damage range.

base_weapon_damage + Weapon speed * AP/14

100 AP benchmark for 19's

VENOMSTRIKE
23 avg hit.
2.4 AS.
30 top end.
10% proc for 38 avg hit. so +3.8 dps

SCORE: 43.94


LIL TIMMYS PEASHOOTER
28.5 avg hit
2.6 AS.
37 top end

SCORE: 47.07

BOW OF PLUNDER
29.5 avg hit
2.6 AS.
39 top end

SCORE 48.07

Sharp Arrow 3.5 DPS
Crafted Heavy Shot 4.5 DPS

Given the ammo it seems that pea shooter and bow of plunder are very close.
I would say however, that bow of plunder is the winner because of the fact is has 2 damage higher top end for instant abilities.

This is a VERY small sample size, but on my rogue I got 7/71 procs which is right about 10%. Again, too small of a sample, but it shows something.

I'd say you need to take armor and magic resistance into account. Hunter instants are magical damage bar multi-shot, which also seems to favour Venomstrike due to the multiple hits.

Instant attacks also proc VS, applying SS procs it too

That's interesting. would need to figure out what the average shots per minute and see if the proc makes up for the lower dmg
