10.0 Predictions/Discussion

In retrospect - I'm gonna go with doomsaying here... I can already see some gimp in full Nath-raid gear with some crazy ass one day only GF weapon... "working as intended".

But, I'm sure it will be fine.
Thanks for reminding us for the 5th time. I'll make sure I get these items now.

World quests offer a number of interesting scaled-to-character level drops, including the Instructor's Divine Bell, expanding trinket options (ignore the socket on this one as well).
I don't think we've gotten world qiests in the past so I'm not too worried about this happening.

I have a feeling threads of fate isn't going to be an option for us 20s... but if it is and it scales correctly, it could be cool... I'm not really down for it but I know there are plenty of people that would enjoy a meta change (even though that will most likely happen with talents alone). I could see them only allowing the abilities in the Shadowlands though so they dont have to worry about it mucking up the rest of the game.

Gear from Revendreth treasures doesn't currently scale
This makes me think that they'll have higher level req's on them still...?

I dont *want* these end game mechanics in my early game, low level twinking. If I wanted end game mechanics, I'd play end game.
To Wrath I go...?

It's interesting to see that people who made 49/59 twinks likely gained "transferable knowledge" for the upcoming changes.

I kind of get the feeling that a lot of this shadowlands stuff is going to be level gated for us. And based on what I'm seeing linked, that might be a good thing...

Sorry to de-rail this very heated argument about tooltips. But yea, looks like Shadowlands is going to make it into Chromie time https://warcraft.blizzplanet.com/bl...ght-interview-with-jackie-wiley-and-tina-wang

Is there a thread/discussion about potentially good items from SL or is too early to say?
Ugh... this really shits in my wheaties.
Was so hoping that SL would never become available to us. BUt, sure, yeah... there's great potential for new BiS loots for us 20's.

Saw the recent interview and it looks like slands is going to be a part of chromie time, my only question is how much o fit will we have access to? will it be full legion? or just 1-2 zones.

Yeah, I would predict that we would probably get access to 1-2 zones, because unlike Legion, SL zones were only designed to scale to your level in Threads of Fate, which is the second playthrough. Otherwise, the SL zones follow a progression, like Kirise said, Bastion -> Maldraxxus -> Ardenweald -> Revendreth. I sincerely doubt that level 20s will have access to Thread of Fate. I think parking an alt in each of the zones before the Expansion releases just to see which treasures can be looted on a 20 will prove fruitful for twink research

That's just it -- Revendreth treasures currently don't have higher level requirements on them, which is why 49s pursue them. That's what Blizz needs to fix before DF or we'll get a week or eight of low level characters running around in ilvl 128-140 gear.

if you could get a level 20 into Revendreth today, they could likely loot those chests.

That's a huge benefit of multi-bracket twinking. 39s discover the strong scaling of SoO trinkets, and 49s take those same trinkets and scale them to ludicrous heights. 49s figure out how to leverage SL scaling with Threads of Fate, and then 59s reverse that approach to get their better-optimized gear. 29s and 39s find unscaled heroic TBC gems, then 20s grab those gems for grandfathered heirloom gear (until the gem nerf, of course). The more expansions we add, the more impact these synergies yield.

We of the 20s bracket appreciate the information from and sacrifice of those who can't compete in queued PvP without leveling out of their bracket.

20s' legacy for SL resides in the BoE green farming locations and techniques that propagated throughout the lower and midbrackets, and the exploration and refinement of gear proc potential. Thank you, 20s, you gave everyone the tools for a bountiful harvest now and in the coming years.

Did they imply they were going to take away old Uldaman? I don't know that needs to happen to introduce a new...

...hang on...

According to the interview, Cataclysm content might also be available btw.

Good god, I missed that. Would you point me to the right place again to find that in the interview? While I admit I'm going speculation crazy this week, saying that they might "add" Cataclysm is HUGE, because that implies they might take away Cata as the default Azeroth, or at least add old Azeroth as an option to retail. All that grandfathered gear from old rares and old dungeons...all back again...and scalable.

The tidal charm, slow 1H maces and daggers, including the quest mace from Zul'Farrak, vanilla BoE epics dropping again, old Sunken Temple gear that murdered our souls to grind....

Prolly not gonna happen since it would take some work to update the stats on that gear (e.g. replace spirit with versatility) that hadn't been touched since cataclysm, but hey. That was a fun momentary surge of possibility. Blizzard's not gonna convert and scale a whole bunch of...old...gear.... Right?

Eleannors quote is a bit of a paraphrase.

They said they want all the previous expansions to scale from 10-60. Which, in theory, means some stuff from cata could become available. But since Azeroth *is* Cata, this could also mean that the "old world" just scales from 10-60, including Cata "remade" zone like 1000 needles, the barrens, darkshore, etc and the zones that were *introduced* in cata could still be 30 and up.

I think everyones getting a little too carried away with "old expansions will scale from 10-60" without considering that thats... mostly true right now. Well... 10-50. But look. MOP starts at 10 and scales to 50, but various zones have level floors of 10, 15, 20, 30 and 35. WOTLK starts at ten but also has floors at 10, 15, 20 and 25. Same general idea for BFA, TBC, WOD... you get the idea.

Like, i know peoples heads are swimming with possibility and I hate to be the wet blanket but guys... he didnt say anything ground breaking. All he said is that its gonna continue to work the way its currently working.
