Gems arent really nerfed, secondary stat gems are being buffed to double what they are now and stat gems stay the same. So right now on my priest I have +20 haste gems, in 5.4 they will be +40. Although I guess it would vary from class to class..

If i'm honest though, I like the change, i'd prefer more nerfs actually, fuck 80 burst damage

I'd just like to add that for now most of the enchant tooltip are wrong, the only things that have actually changed so far that i've seen is Synapse giving 192 primary stat and lifeblood giving 288 haste at 600. (Blizzard love wrong tooltips)

But, that's too long away:(

Alch still isn't as good LW/Engi for PvE

For PvP I'd suggest having either herb, engi or LW. Due to 80 PvP being all about burst I'd go with engi and herb. But you could swap out either of those for LW for either 785 agility or 1180 Stam. The only reason you'd want alch is for your meta bonus, but even then LW gives more damage and/or...
