What makes Starter, or Veteran, accounts so appealing to you?

Simple thread, I was wondering what it is exactly that keeps you here?
Sheer lack of interest in the subscription fee?
The community?
What?

For me I always loved knowing I had a fallback account for if I couldn't afford to pay for my subscription (which has definitely happened before, ramen months are definitely a month that WoW is not a priotity!)

But the biggest thing is the community, especially the memories the community continued to give me.

I look back to a few years ago when I was extremely active in this bracket and I have nothing but joy to look back on, those of you still here I hope I've been as much of a joy as you were to me.

Those of you who have left us, I hope you're having just as much fun as we used to, somewhere else.

I started here in cata, back then I enjoyed the playstyle of twinks so that kept me here. During MoP, I found a lot of great people and thats why I played trial all the expansion even with my sub active. The problem is that now, everyone left the game, I'm quite alone, never find anyone who have fun with and in the other hand the actual state of the bracket isn't enjoyable at all (at least for me).

What basically keeps me here are :

1. Friends, i have lots of friends, i do BGs with them nearly everyday, and its really cool. Lately we have been planning strategies to defeat EFCs and what not, and i find it really , really cool!!!
2.The challenge, i put challenge as my second, because its really important, but to me, friends are first. Challenge against P2Ps and F2Ps. Showing skill, outplaying, is a MUST.
3.I want to reach the 4.7k Warsong Gulch flag capture dream with my druid!!!
4.Fun.

What has been bothering me since the Begining of WoD :

Queues. With the addition of Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm, queues have gotten ridiculously slow (Except on Sundays). I really miss the 1 minute queues for Horde and this situation is really bothering me.

Competitive arenas and WSG makes it appealing to me, doing both with good friends makes it better

OK I'm gonna test it and if it don't work....ooh I be mad...and you don't want to see what a turtle does when it becomes enarhedhhdbj I don't even know wtf I'm saying.

I'll tell you what makes a starer account so great, nothing comes easy. Everything requires lots of time and effort. And that gives it meaning and value.

I could have bought Magefist Gloves while I was paid for cheap but it was overlooked. And now I'm going to grind SFK for them. And you know what, I think I prefer it.

Surround it with

You can always "respond" to a post to see how they typed it out.

Starter Accounts are all about getting geared.

When you get those rare item drops after farming a certain dungeon, mob, or chest for the longest time, it just makes you feel super accomplished. At least I do anyways.

I enjoy the community, including TI, though I may not post much. I enjoy the challenge; I spent, like, six hours yesterday farming my rogues mog even though I COULD have bought it before my WoD trial expired on Sat.

Heck, even my vets are limited to a challenge I gave myself, Gear three chars with guild looms and enchants and such ONLY on a 10d trial without any high level toons on the server. So, rolled a char got her to 29 and farmed/played the AH. Ended up gearing four chars and had more fun in WoW than I've had in ages trying to get it all done by time expiring. In fact, I got the last thing I wanted 15 minutes before time expired, worrying the whole time that it'd arrive just in time for me not to be able to get mail. Now, are my vet chars all BiS enchants? Sadly no, but that's another thing to work for next time I get a trial. =D

As much as a challenge as that was though, couldn't have done some of it without the MG f2p folks, so a shout out to them for advice on what I needed for my vet stuff!

FUN! I am SO happy not to be 100 and constantly chasing that new gear every two months in order to stay up to date, I can actually sit and enjoy the game!

I've been playing 19s, and I can gear a toon in an afternoon. And while that has its pluses, i.e. you don't have to PvE so you can PvP, I actually kind of liked the ups and downs of farming.

29s pretty much killed the bracket for me for awhile. F2ps were more or less non-viable when 29s were pre-mading a lot, so I just kind of stopped queueing. I made a 29, and it was even worse than getting one shotted on a f2p. I literally tried rolling my face around the right area of the keyboard, and I could not be killed.

I spent a good amount of gold on enchants for those toons, but I have no investment in them. I feel kind of ill just looking at them at login. I think I might just delete them to make room for more 19s on BH. The only real fun I had on them was GY farming Dragonmaw into the dirt for a few days.

What I miss about f2ps is the community we had on BWL, and the sense of pride we had in our toons and our server. I don't know what the crew is all doing, when every I look at my friends list, it looks like most of them are dicking around on endgame this-or-that, I don't know. I haven't even been by to check the server out really because work and school put me on later hours than I was on before.

Hopefully, some of you all are still there; now that the 29s fad is dying down, and 20s are picking up, I think I'll make some 20s with my sweet garrison cash. Maybe I'll even transfer a 100 over to subsidize them, but I don't know if I'll ever recapture the feeling of doing everything the hard way, like we did back in 2012.

Because I spent all of Vanilla through the end of WoTLK (And prior to that in other MMOs) doing nonstop high end raiding, and after that fell apart, I lost any interest in doing much more than that.

I was already playing my 20s on my normal account and now I can do so without any costs attached. This is just great for me cause I didn't really played endgame. The only minus to this for me is that I am not able to help others creating and building their twinks and expanding my own with enchants. Ah well so be it, I like it. Hope they will fix xp-locking for veteran starter accounts and see that as a bug, then its gonna be 19s :)
